L'oreal Sublime Glow Moisturizing Microfine Mist —

To the Point

When we headed off to California last December I bought Sublime Glow Moisturizing Microfine Mist by L'Oreal. I am still using it because I have it and don't like to throw things away unless they're terrible.

A Closer View

I bought the color "medium skin tones" which seems fine for me. It comes in a 4.2-ounce can with an easy to use push down spray top.

We're told that L'Oreal Sublime Glow has a "hydrating moisturizing MicroFine Mist." There are a lot of claims on the can that I'll address.

Pros

  • The mist is super fine. I thought I'd really love it for that reason. My thinking was that if the mist was clear then the color would be streak free. I don't know what I was thinking. Some of the best tans I think come from practice and I have gotten to like this better over the months. I still don't love it.
  • It does give me a slow tan. I don't turn tan in an hour. It is gradual which I like.
  • It dries quickly which is good since I'm not supposed to get dressed until it's dry.
  • I don't have to rub Sublime Glow onto my skin or wash my hands after using L'Oreal's Body Experience.

Cons

  • L'Oreal claims Sublime Glow Moisturizing Microfine Mist to be hydrating. I can't say that it is drying because I have dry skin and don't notice that Sublime Glow makes my skin more dry.
  • I don't think the MicroFine Mist goes on evenly. I really had high hopes. I find streaks and probably like all the tanners I really have to be careful of my elbows, knees and feet as you will see in the picture!
  • L'Oreal Sublime Glow is flammable. Do I have any idea what the ingredients (Water Dihydroxyacetone, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, PEG 60 Hydogenated Castor Oil, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Benzyl Salicylate, Alpha IsoMethyl Ionone, Citronellol, Limonene, and Fragrance- from the can) are doing to me?

Using Sublime Glow

As I read the can for the review (with a magnifying glass) I saw that it is supposed to be used within 6 months so I guess I will throw the rest away.

I suppose that if someone else were spraying me at arm's length daily and then 1 to 2 times a week there would be less streaking. It couldn't be easier to use and that's what prompted me to buy this can which costs in the $7.00 range.

Jo's Viewpoint

I have mixed feelings. If you are a tanner from a bottle then you might like this and have better luck with it. I think it has potential but it's not for me.

I don't have luck with them either, for some reason they always turn orange on me no matter what I do. My daughter however tans beautfully with them.

I have never had much luck with self tanners. I can't seem to find one that smells good, doesn't streak and won't rub off on clothes and bedding... I think that you are right in saying that someone else needs to spray it on you. That's a great idea.

I find spray tans are the hardest to use. I bought some tanning towelettes and am trying them tonight. Who knows what will happen? lol.
