Lorac Snake Charmer Face Palette —

Once I was bitten by the LORAC CROC bug, suddenly my eyes were open to the amazing possibilities of LORAC eyeshadows and blushes in creating that sophisticated high class NEUTRAL look.

I have not been a big fan of most neutrals.  The colors were boring on me, and they just did not excite me at all, no matter what brand I tried on myself.  As a makeup artist, I am always using neutrals on others, but they just did not look great on me.  I had accepted the fact that perhaps I was just not a neutral girl.

Then I discovered LORAC CROC FACE Palette and my makeup life was changed!

Since my experience with LORAC CROC FACE PALETTE was so positive, I decided to check out some of the other LORAC palettes which have been getting RAVE reviews for some time now.

WHAT IS THE SNAKE CHARMER PALETTE LIKE?

I came upon a LORAC face palette that was getting rave reviews (as most of LORAC eyeshadow palettes do) called the SNAKE CHARMER FACE PALETTE

The snake charmer face palette is in a very cute brown snakeskin type palette which has gold studs and a red cabachon set into the top.  The outside is shiny patent leather looking.

The inside is like most LORAC palettes.  The eyeshadows and blush are set into a rubberized base covered with fiberboard top in black.  The top has a mirror in it covered by a removable plastic film.  I mention this because the first few weeks I had a LORAC palette I did not know why the mirror was so blurry- HAHA.

The lid closes with a magnetic closure.  If you plan to keep this in a purse or makeup bag, I would strongly suggest you sew a little sleeve of fabric or something to keep this in.  You can also use a rubber band for those who are not crafty.

The Snake Charmer Palette comes with the following colors in it

  • ENCHANTED IVORY- a champagne ivory shimmer- great for inner corners & brow arch
  • MYSTICAL GOLD- a champagne gold shimmer- excellent for lids
  • CHARMING COPPER- a copper bronze brown- med- good for outer lids and crease
  • ROYAL BROWN- a midnight brown with gold sparkles- great liner and contour
  • HYPNOTICALLY PEACH BLUSH- a true peach blush with a twist of coral- excellent blush

HOW DOES THE SNAKE CHARMER PALETTE PERFORM?

As with the LORAC CROC PALETTE, the SNAKE CHARMER PALETTE has butter smooth shadows and blush.  The colors are fantastic for a natural looking eye with that touch of glamor that most women look for.  They are easy to sheer out if you desire or to use intensely.

You can use these shadows wet or dry, but I find that dry, they are lovely used over a good base such as  TOO FACED SHADOW INSURANCE or URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION.  These shadows blend flawlessly.

The only potential disappointment in this palette is the dark brown- if you plan on the gold sparkles being a plus for this dark brown, then you will be disappointed. Used wet, they will stay pretty well, but used dry, just plan on this being more of a matte brown and you won't be disappointed.

I did not find a bad fallout yet with this shadow's glitter, and the other colors are just fine.

I have had terrible results with many shadows causing me burning, itching, or adverse reactions, but LORAC eyeshadows so far have performed beautifully in this area as well.

I have also not had a problem with the LORAC shadows creasing or disappearing when used dry over a base.  I have noticed a little fading after about 6 hours, which is not bad performance.  However, there is still so much shadow there, that it is rarely a problem unless I want to darken my look for evening, which is pretty typical of most shadows.

FINAL COMMENTS

LORAC SNAKE CHARMER Palette is worth a look for those who may find the LORAC CROC PALETTE too reddish to wear.  Or if you just want a change.  The blush is a beautiful glowy color if used lightly, and the shadows are more toward a goldish bronzey brown direction.

I find that they look wonderful on me - although Croc Palette is still my favorite for most looks- I do find the SNAKE CHARMER PALETTE to be a nice change.

WHERE TO GET

You can get the LORAC SNAKE CHARMER PALETTE from

www.sephora.com
www.loraccosmetics.com

It is being phased out so you can find it at reduced prices.  Last time I looked, I found it on sale for $20 at Sephora and $17 at LORAC.

It is well worth the purchase before they are no longer available.

This even looks like a snake skin, oh my! I was bitten twice (same snake) this summer! Sounds like you have found a line of "dangerous" products ;+) Snakes and Crocs, what's next? ~Gigi
