Logitech V220 Optical Wireless Notebook Mouse —

I don't know whether I'm spastic or what, but I could never get the hang of using a touch-pad on my notebook computer.  And that pencil eraser thingy on a ThinkPad?  Forget it.  Never gonna happen.

So recently when I bought my new Gateway Notebook, I took the money I saved by buying it in tax-free Delaware and bought a wireless notebook mouse.  Best Buy had two of them hanging right there with all the pretty notebooks.  The Microsoft mouse for $29.99 and the Logitech V220, on sale for $19.99.  I didn't even have time to decide.  My salesman grabbed the V220 and said, "You'll love it."  He was right.

Nothing very difficult here.  The hardest part of the installation is opening up the plastic blister pack.  Insert an AA battery, plug in the USB receiver and Vista recognizes it immediately.

The V220 is smaller than your desktop mouse, but very comfortable in your hand.  Its soft rubber sides fit naturally in either hand.  It's a full function optical mouse with a scroll button.  But this mouse scrolls both vertically as well as horizontally.  A quick trip to logitech.com, enable the horizontal capability.

The action of this mouse is incredibly fast at 1,000 DPI which allows yo to use the palm-rest for your mouse pad.  I like this feature, especially when flying.

When traveling, the USB adaptor fits into a groove on the bottom of the mouse for secure storage.

Battery life is excellent.  I'm still working on my first Duracell Alkaline after approximately two months.

My Viewpoint

How much is there to think about?  Unless you're that masochistic breed that insists on using the touch-pad, the Logitech V220 Optical Wireless Notebook Mouse is an inexpensive must-have for your notebook using pleasure.  I highly recommend it.

Regards,

Rudi

You are not spastic; I hate, hate, the touch pad on my laptops, and have to have a quaility mouse, and that means Logitech. Great review Rudi, thanks.

I've always loved my V200, but would like to upgrade to the bluetooth version so it works without the USB thingy.
