Logitech V220 Optical Wireless Notebook Mouse Review

The Logitech V220 Cordlesss Optical Mouse for Notebooksis the best computer accessory I have ever purchased!  Logitech has been making quality computer supplies and accessories for many years, and are one of the more reasonably priced distributors.  I picked up my Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks at a low price of $ 29.99 at Best Buy.  This was an extremely low price when compared to the others that I contemplated.

What I love about this mouse is that it is cordless and designed specifically for laptop computers.  When you take the mouse out of the packaging, you'll find an instructional manual (with about 3 VERY EASY steps to follow), the mouse, one AA battery, and a receiver that slides right into your USB drive.  I am very computer illiterate, yet I was able to set up my mouse in a matter of 2 - 3 minutes, if that!  Here's all you do:

• Click the button to open the batter chamber
• Slide in the AA battery
• Slide the receiver into your USB drive

That's it!!! Logitech provides you with a website to go to that you can get product downloads, but you don't have to do it to get the mouse to work.  Setup was so simple with the Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks!  There was no need to install any software, or plug in any disk.  Once I did the three steps listed above, my mouse was working!

Because this mouse is specifically designed for laptop use, it is cordless.  It's also very easy to pack up and move to another location.  The receiver that plugs into a USB drive can be stored snugly into the back of the mouse.  It just slides right into place, so you never have to worry about losing it or misplacing it.

Know what else is so cool about Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks?  The design!  The mouse I picked out has a design called "Blush Butterfly".  It's a red background with a fun, funky butterfly graphic right on the mouse (see photo)!  There were so many other very awesome designs, there would be something to match anyone's personality.  I have a Dell computer with a red cover, so I decided on the "Blush Butterfly" design because it matches my laptop.  I also found the following designs that caught my eye:

• Candystripe (a pretty combination of thin red, pink & white stripes)
• Blue flourish (a delicate blue color with pretty white swirls)
• Scarlet red
• Rose pink
• Plum purple
• Cobalt blue
• Dark silver

Being a woman, I like to accessories, so having the ability to pick out a fun design that matches my personality was a bonus too.  Most computer accessories come in black or silver, so the Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks really caught my eye! 

Aside from being attractive, the Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks is also ergonomically designed with soft rubber grips on both sides of the mouse for maximum comfort.  For someone like me, who is ALWAYS on the computer, that means a lot!  This mouse is slightly smaller than a regular mouse, and it fits right in the palm of my hand.  It has a left click, right click, and a wheel in the middle for quickly browsing lists and pages.  It also has a side-to-side scrolling feature (PLUS ZOOM!).

As I mentioned earlier, the Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks runs on one AA battery.  According to package directions, the battery should have a life of approximately six months.  There is an on/off button located at the back of the mouse, so if you remember to always click it into the "off" position when it's not in use, you can prolong the life of the battery.  When the battery begins to die, a battery indicator light will come on so you're never caught by surprise.

This is a high definition optical mouse and is 2.5 times more responsive than a standard optical mouse.  However, it's not ultra sensitive and is easy to control when in use.  Sometimes you'll get a mouse that is so sensitive, it moves all over the place when you just barely touch it.  This mouse is not like that at all.  It's easy to maneuver, simple to use, and is likely the BEST mouse I have ever used.

Did you know that Logitech is the # 1 leader in mice?  After using this particular mouse, I can see why!  The functions, the comfort, and the colorful design are all just a bonus.  What really matters is that the Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks works great and is very easy to use.  And for someone like me, who has a difficult time loading software and setting up anything new, I was relieved that it was so easy to install.

Bottom Line -  If you are the owner of a laptop computer, this is the perfect mouse for you!  The Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks is attractive to look at, comfortable and easy to use, simple to set up and install, and available at a much lower price than the competition.  Just because something costs more money does NOT mean that it's better.  I saw several optical mouse offers from other manufacturers that were AT LEAST double the price, and I wouldn't trade this one for any one of them.
