EEK! Nice Mouse

5

In general, it is hard to review a computer mouse in my opinion because I am by no means a computer "geek" or computer junkie. I use my computer for work mostly, and I guess I sometimes take my keyboard and mouse for granted. Either they "work" or "do not work" in my world. However, I had a computer mouse that technically worked, but my company bought me a new, improved mouse a few months ago - the Logitech MX610 laser cordless mouse. The improvement was immediately noticeable. I had become accustomed to the older, slower mouse and the occasional "hangs" of "jumps." But the Logitech MX610 is smooth and easy. Performance Easily the smoothest mouse I've ever used. I am old school I guess because I use the wheel on this mouse a lot to page up and down. No problems at all. Durability I'm just guessing here - I have not had this mouse for very long, but it seems sturdy and durable. I did drop it once, and it had no side effects. Design Very comfortable to use.

Not great for laptops.

This is a very basic wireless mouse. It comes with an adapter that you must plug into a USB input in order to connect the mouse to your computer. If your using a laptop the adapter simply gets in the way as it is very long and sticks out from the computer. If you are using the mouse on a desktop it should be fine as you can connect it to the hard drive.

I have been using this mouse for several months now. it has been working great, and is comfortable and easy to use. It also fits well in the curve of my palm so i can use it for hours. it is also great that it is wireless, because it makes it easier to move around in all directions. however if you have children around who like to play with things and hide them you dont want to lose your mouse.

A very handy, easy to use, cute little mouse.

I not very thrilled with the concept of a wireless mouse, I thought that there would not be such precise control with such a device. Was I ever impressed with my Logitech wireless mouse!  It is very precise, with no float to it at all. It was easy to install on my computer, and I will never go wired again.

Logitech MX610 is great!

I purchased the Logitech MX 610 a few years ago because I got sick of having a cord always getting in the way when I was using it. While there were many wireless mice to choose from, I decided on the MX 610 because it had plenty of buttons that I could make use of. While the package said I would get quite a few months out of the 2 AA batteries that was far from the case. A set of batteries usually only lasted me about 1-2 months, which is quite bad. In retrospect I probably should have went with a mouse that was rechargeable since this was eating batteries like crazy. Other than the battery issue, I really enjoyed the mouse. The buttons were easily customizable with the Logitech software. It had great range; I was still able to control the mouse from another room between walls. Since it is a laser mouse, it had no issues on surfaces that weren't specifically a mouse pad which is a nice plus. But due to the terrible battery life, I had to go back to a corded mouse. I ended up spending more on batteries than I did for the mouse to begin with.

I have owned this mouse for several years. it is my favorite mouse i've ever owned by far. very responsive and always goes where i want it to go! the multitude of buttons is amazing especially once you program them for functions you use often. I've reprogrammed the back and forward keys to do copy and paste instead, for example. You can do anything you want really. The only complaint i have is that it doesnt have a built in rechargeable battery like the newer mice do. This guy uses two double A batteries. on the bright side, it sips juice very slowly. I use rechargeable Nimh batteries and have to swap them out maybe once ever two or three months. I am using some older batteries too, so i bet new ones would last even longer. it would just be nice to put it on a charging platform every now and then and not have to pull out my charger and the batteries. pretty minor, i know. the other big complaint i have is that it throws my trackpad settings off whenever i unplug the mouse and try to use my laptop's track pad. that is genuinely annoying. i have looked for solutions in the past but have had no luck. great mouse overall.

The Logitech MX610 laser cordless mouse has been very useful for me at work. I have tried various cordless mouse items and this by far is the best I have tried. It comes with extra buttons for easier navigation. It is friendly for gamers and multimedia multitaskers and has an ergonomic design. It also the perfect size for my hand. I do not believe that there is a left handed version and people with big hands might wish the Logitech MX610 laser mouse were larger. The Logitech MX610 laser cordless mouse provides comfort and convenient extra features not available from any other mouse on the market. I use rechargeable batteries and I would guess I get around 5 months out of a set of batteries before they need to be replaced. I also like how the USB port slides into the bottom of the mouse for storage and it is flat, it doesn't stick out like some do when stored. I have another mouse that the USB port was bent because of that.

The logitech Laser mouse is one of the best things i have ever had. It is super sharp at pointing and very accurate. It is very speedy. I love the cordless and speed part of it the most. The battery life is great. Runs on AA batteries which is great.

Love this little wireless mouse from Logitech

Over the years I have learned that a computer mouse is not just a mouse; it in many ways defines your computing experience.  A smooth running mouse is a joy to work with, while a mouse that skips, jitters, and has a mind of its own can tack minutes or even hours onto a project.  Most of this was due to dirty mouse balls and rollers inside the body of the mouse, and could be easily resolved by cleaning the mouse.   I bought the **MX610 Laser Cordless (laser) Mouse** because I was tired of fidgeting with the cord on my old Microsoft Wireless Optical mouse; the wire that is attached to the transceiver that is.  I wanted a cordless without the large transceiver and Logitech delivered with the **MX610**, with a unit the size of a small stick of gum and plugs into any available USB port.     At first glance the **MX610** is a little unusual; it is not shaped like any other mouse I have used in the past, and it ships in right or a left-handed version; I bought the left handed version.  The mouse fits nicely in the (left) hand and it size makes it easy to use; it's not too big and not too small.  And I will be able to take it with me whenever I travel with my notebook.  In all other respects the **MX610** is a conventional two button mouse with a few extras thrown in for good measure.  Along the right hand side of the **MX610** are handy thumb-button controls that allow you to page forward and backward through web pages and documents.  Right above and slightly to the front of these buttons is another array of buttons from controlling the speaker volume and mute button.  Directly after these buttons are two LED's that tell the user when an email (yellow) or IM (blue) is received; these actually work!   An illuminated low level battery indicator that relays the current charge level of the included two AA batteries is situated at the top of the mouse dead center. Underneath the **MX610** there is housing for the laser unit and a reset button. The **MX610** automatically shuts itself off when the computer shuts down; sweet and of course it saves battery power. The **MX610 **ships with a RF base station that connects to the computer's USB or PS/2 port with an included adapter.  **My ViewPoint ** Installation of the** MX610 **is pretty straight forward; the mouse is plug-n-play, though you might want to install Logitech's *Mouseware* software in order to gain control over the MX610's various buttons.  **Note:** the *Mouseware* will install under *Windows Vista*, however most of the controls were folded into the applet for the touchpad on the laptop.        *Logitech* makes claim that the new MX Laser Engine perched inside the **MX610** is 20 times more sensitive than a standard (red) LED.  But because the laser tracks movement more accurately than a standard LED, over virtually any surface (matt or glossy, black or white), the **MX610** takes more precise readings of the surface.  The result: more exact cursor movement onscreen, which Logitech claims makes for better gaming, and graphics work.  I can testify to the **MX610** smooth movement over the screen; I have had the **MX610** for almost two months and in that time the cursor has never jumped, jittered, skipped, or paused.  To date I have not had a problem with the mouse losing its connection with the transceiver.  Logitech suggest you place the transceiver away from other electronics (good luck), but if your desk is a as crowed as mine, this may prove impossible.  And as time progressed my hand steadily got used to the strange grove in the right hand side of the mouse, and now the mouse feels quite comfortable in my hand.  I can even manage to manipulate the specialty buttons and use the mouse at the same time, though I will admit that this took some getting used to. **Concluding ViewPoint** For a general purpose optical pointing device, the *Logitech ***MX610 Laser Cordless Mouse** is hard to beat.  Light weight and attractive the **MX610** is comfortable, and easy to maneuver, and far more functional than any other mouse I have used.  The **MX610** laser guided** **pointing device is reliable workhorse that keeps getting better with age.
