Very useful, and makes a great gift!

I bought this mouse for my boyfriend, an avid World of Warcraft gamer, and he absolutely loves it! He says is super useful for fast gaming and is definitely worth the money. Its performance is fast and easy to use and the design of the mouse is super comfortable. He used to have wrist problems while playing for hours online but not since i bought this mouse for him for his birthday. It makes a great gift for any loved one who is an avid gamer or computer user.

Logitech MX 518: As Good As It Gets

5

I had the Logitech MX 500 and got the MX 518 as an upgrade. The design is seemingly identical to the 500. The color scheme has changed. The biggest difference is the DPI. The MX 500 had 800 DPI, while the 518 has 1600 DPI. This results in even more precise and accurate tracking. Although I don't game too much on the computer, the bump in DPI results in a lot more enjoyable experience using the mouse. The mouse goes where you want it to go. I also don't mind that the mouse is corded. It means I don't need a transmitter and I don't need to put batteries in the mouse. You plug it in and it works. The ergonomics of the mouse are wonderful...if you're a righty. It is very comfortable and all the buttons are easily accesible. The back and forward side buttons are very useful and all the buttons are reprogrammable. You can install Logitech's software and drivers or you can simply plug and play. The Logitech MX 518 is a wonderful mouse. You don't have to be gamer to benefit from the awesome tracking, the ergonomics, and the multitude of buttons.

Great Mouse for the Price

4

I have been using this mouse for a couple months now and it is very good for the price. It has a few extra buttons and you can change the dpi depending on your preference or need. Does not have all the features that others have but if you want a cheap dependable mouse this is the way to go.

Great mouse for gaming and graphic design.

5

This product really delivers what it is supposed to at a cost which is perfect. I run a computer company and use this mouse for each of my staff. More importantly we have competitive game events and this mouse held up it own against other mice with over 5 times the price tag. Some of our top gamers used this and six other mice and rated them. This mouse was the top rated in its price range. This is a great mouse for detailed artwork as well. (ie Photoshop, AutoCad) You can't go wrong with this mouse. Performance all around perfect mouse for the price for graphics design, drafting, computer gaming, and anything that require detailed movement that needs to be precise. I strongly recommend this product. Durability Under heavy use by a number of 14 - 18 year old kids playing competitive games for 48 hours straight once a month these really hold their own. I have seen them thrown, dropped, and slammed on the table and still works like a charm. Comfort Fits the hand well. Takes a little getting used to but most gamers that use it during our competitions take to it in less than twenty minutes. Most end up getting one due to replace cost is so low compared to most other gamer mice.

a very serious mouse

5

This is a mouse that is really overkill for anyone out there that needs a serious mouse. This is not the newest Logitech offering. In fact there are several that I can name our more advanced and came at a later time than this Logitech MX518 gaming mouse. However it is a bit mind-boggling that they are adding more and more features and making the mouses more technologically advanced when the MX518 was already good enough. There is no game out right now modern or old that requires a better mouse and the MX. Anyone who claims otherwise is merely just trying to justify his or her purchase into a much more expensive mouse. The fact is that this mouse already gives you all the sensitivity inputs that one needs. Comfort is a subjective issue but I feel that the MX is one of the most comfortable mouses ever made. The controls are easy to use and overall it is a very strong mouse.

Logitech MX 518 mouse is a nice mouse

3

I use to own this mouse, but I have since switched to wireless. I use to think the Logitech MX 518 high performance mouse was too big. I have small hands and so this mouse was big for me. The logitech MX518 is lightweight for its size. It is fine for gaming, but due to its size, you will need plenty of room to move the mouse around. The buttons were fine. I think Logitech buttons are way too loud and this mouse is no exception. I would like to see future mouses that do not make those loud annoying clicks. Logitech is not alone on this; I think all mouse manufacturers make too loud mouse buttons. At least the buttons on the MX518 has never failed me. The scroll wheel had a nice feel to it. Not too smooth that I accidentally scroll too far, and not too resistant that it requires too much force to move the wheel. I think the MX518 is a nice mouse except for the size.

Buy this - Stop searching

Just picked this mouse up a couple of weeks ago from newegg when it was on sale. looking to improve my online gaming - Which it did!! I was amaze how smooth the mouse moves across the screen and also amaze on how comfortabe this mouse was, My risk doesn't hurt as much anymore and now I am getting more head shots on BattleField Bad Company 2!!. This thing fired up as soon as I plugged it into my PC. I am currently running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, no software needed to install this thing. It has alot of buttons which you can assign a job too, for me I like to copy and paste alot so I decided to use two buttons strictly for that. I you need to do is highlight, copy and paste, done. There really nothing much I can say about the cons, this thing doesn't dissapoint. Onlything that people might complain about is the cosmetics or the way that it looks / colors and stuff. If you don't have one of these you are not a true Gamer!!

MX518 great mouse

4

Cool ergonomic design and it feel really great to use. I really like how the shape of this mouse contours the the shape of your hand. It has really quick response which is great for first person shooting games or any other game for that matter.. Used many different types of mice before, this one has by far been the best. It's pretty light also so it doesn't feel like a pain to use after a long time. The cord of this mouse is the perfect length, giving you some slack so your cord doesn't always get caught on something. I really only like my mouse sensitivity one way, so i dont really use the two sensitivity buttons above and below the middle wheel. Sometimes its a little annoying when i accidentally press those buttons. But i rarely press it by accident anyways so its not a big deal. The only other problem i have with this mouse is that its glossy surface. I find myself having to clean it a lot even, but thats probably just me and my sweaty hands... The mouse was a bit pricey for when I got it, but it was well worth it. I don't think i'll be changing mice any time soon.

THIS MX518 IS AMAZING!

5

This mouse is amazing. The 1800DPI sensor is great for gaming. It's also very acurate and is one of the best in the market. No other mouse can compare to this except the Razer Deathadder. The mouse's exterior is perfect with amazing build quality. The mouse is shaped for right-hand gamers so SORRY to left-handed gamers. The rubbery feel of the sides of the mouse are great because the mouse becomes comfortable in the hands. The only con I can think of is the scroll wheel. It's a usable scroll wheel, but there are definitely better scroll wheels out there. Unfortunately, for those that want an adjustable weight, it does not come with this mouse. Although it does not come with this, I feel it is a great weight for a mouse. Another con is the look of the mouse. The mouse's exterior has "bullet-hole" like looks that make it look un-professional. If you don't like the look of this, you can purchase the Logicool MX518, which is a matte black variation of this except for Japan. Overall, great mouse but looks and the mouse wheel are the big downsides to this mouse.
