Logitech Harmony 880 LCD Remote Control Review

Ok, we bought the HDTV, Blue Ray, DVR, and game system.  We have the remotes for the television, cable/dvr, blue ray, dvd player.  I tried going with the "universal" remote that came with the cable box, but, was constantly having to teach the wife & daughter how to use this remote.  I had no problems using it, however, I do admit it was not the easiest remote to use.  So, I started searching for a better universal remote and discovered remote utopia in the Logitech Harmony 880.  The remote seemed a little pricey, but, if you do your shopping you can find a pretty good deal on this remote.

After purchasing the remote I quickly discovered even at full retail, this is an amazing remote!  It's incredibly easy to setup, just plug it into your computer via the USB port and use the Logitech software to configure it by telling it what devices you have, it's really that simple.  My wife loves it, my daughter loves it, I love it, what more can you want? 

My only complaint is the default values that Logitech uses for the delay between button presses is always to slow.  For example, if you want to lower your volume by 5 presses of the lower volume button, you would expect those 5 presses to happen immediately.  They don't, kind of irritating.  However, you can change just about any aspect of this remote and it was pretty easy to find these timing settings and adjust them to our liking.  I find I have to do this for about every device I add to the remote.  Not a big deal, and it's easy to adjust, just wish I didn't have to each time.
