As I first started using this mouse I was really amazed by what an improvement the hyper-scrolling wheel makes. But as I used it further, the switch on the bottom almost negated the utility of this feature. Similarly the stored profiles are very useful for changing your particular assignment of buttons and other mouse behaviors, but the button is inconveniently placed underneath, though this is less of an issue as profile changes are not going to be that frequent. Otherwise the mouse mouse feels excellent, though some might not like the low-profile shape, I feel it is not hard to adjust to. There are plenty of buttons--though personally I could always use more--and the main left and right buttons feel great, clicking very precisely. With more time the coating on the mouse begins to wear thin, which seems typical of Logitech mice, but while this is ugly, I will replace this mouse with a better model before it can cause any problems.

When I purchased this mouse I made the mistake of not first going to best buy and feeling the ergonomic aspects to it, or lack of. This mouse was designed around the "claw" gaming style where you use your fingertips instead of palm to own it up in game. It takes a while to get used to the mouse, but it works. You can order additional grips from logitech. I like how the g9 allows me to change the color to match my computer's color, The quality of the mouse is suberb overall. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the g9 on my mouse is starting to peel. This is a common problem among these mice though. As for gaming, this mouse dominates. I love playing the Battlefield series games since using vehicles requires different DPI settings on the mouse. I can quickly change the DPI on the fly without moving my finger. This mouse also stores all your settings so that you dont have to install the software on other computers or laptops you have.

Logitech's G9 mouse is one of the best gaming mice on the market.  Its build quality is solid, and is very responsive.  Its high resolution laser can be configured to be ultra sensitive for users who like a fast moving cursor, or slower for graphic artists who want more control.  It comes with two grips - one smoother/rounder for general use, and a smaller/rougher designed for control (gaming).  The G9 also comes with a set of weights to help users with discerning taste.  Logitech's customer support is second to none.
