Gamer's Unite!

This is definitely a logitech keyboard. It's well built, lasts even with hard use and has features out its ears. It has 18 G keys for programming in macros and other functions in addition to a display screen and illumination so you can see the keys in the dark. It also has programmable volume and media keys and two USB ports. Since this has been discontinued, if you are looking for a great keyboard on the cheap, you've met your soulmate. Comfort It's not ergonomic :(

One of the best keyboard makers!

I have gone through several keyboards over the years, and this is by far the best one I have ever owned. The keys light up, and has an adjuster so you can have the keys light up as much or as little as you would like. It has a display that allows you to see system performance as well as audio controls for Windows Media player and other devices that are compatible. It also has special control settings for games that are preloaded via the software that is included, and updated itself for new games. It also has shortcut keys on the left side of the keyboard so you may launch programs at will. With the m1,m2, and m3 buttons at the top, you could have up to 18 shortcut commands! The only downside to this keyboard would be the clicking of the keys. They seem to be a bit louder than other keyboards, but still a great keyboard regardless! Overall, I recommend this keyboard for both casual use as well as people who enjoy games! I have had this keyboard for 5 year sand it has yet to let me down!

Cool Game Keyboard

As a G series keyboard, G15's revolutionary selling point is LCD display and macro keys. G15 has 2 versions. The first version has a flip LCD and 18 macro keys. And the second one has a fixed screen (same resolution) and 6 macro keys (with 3 buttons to switch between 3 sets of macro definitions), which I bought. Frankly speaking, new version looks more stylish, although some may complain the 6 macro keys are not enough.Pros:LCD display. It's unfair to compare G15's monochromatic LCD with G19's 320X240 color screen, consider that the latter costs 3-4 times more. The screen is small, roughly 6-7 lines of characters. The sweet spot is that Logitech has pre-configured a lot of in-game support after you install the driver. I mainly play WoW, and the default profile shows the stats of your character. It works fine in latest Cataclysm build. Blizzard changes the interface so you have to click one more button to show stats in Character panel. G15's display saves the hassle. Basic stats are all there, but don't expect haste, resilience or GS there, dude. You can have addons to display them in your game screen, but G15 makes it cooler, isn't it. Outside the game, there're many other gadget as well. I'm using a 3rd party one that can show system usage and WEATHER forecast, very useful. Macro keys. Still take WoW as an example, who else needs so many keys? I'd say 6 keys is still not enough, but more keys won't solve the problem since it's not easy to precisely locate them. I get used to press traditional keys belongs to my left hand. For the extra 6 keys on left edge, only top and buttom ones are easy to figure out. Others need some more time than normal keys. But again, better than never. I just bind some less commonly used macros with these 6 keys. Outside the game, I also bind like copy cut & paste with them.Cons:Control buttons of LCD are very tight. Especially the media playback buttons, you'll never want to press them.Long key regulation spacing is long. Comparing with previous lower end model of Logitech and the one I'm using in my office, it's much longer. The key stroking sound is good but I need to use more strength. Maybe I'm used to the soft and comfortable feeling of my T400's keyboard.

Ultimate gaming keyboard

This keyboard feature illuminated keys (with 2 levels of brightness and off) if you still can't tell where your keys are. It also features a separate LCD screen that can do time, countdown, newsfeeds, or whatever you want to program it to do. It features a set of 6 fully programmable keys on the left. I found this only as useful as you are creative to use it, and may get in the way of some as they are very close to the left border. Sometimes I find myself hitting them rather than the CRTL or ESC keys. The keys themselves are smooth rather than textured and are  arrange in the perfect classic way without any deviations or changes in layout or actual keys.  They keyboard comes with a plastic wrist wrest that is detachable. I used my own gel wrist wrest. The top keys for play/ff/rw/and volume controls however are very bad quality and hard to push. I'm quite surprised. There is also no standby or off button which some gripe about, you must find a way to program it yourself. The keyboard is also very quiet, some may find it too quiet if they are used to having some aural feedback when typing. They software is well made, if not a bit buggy. I find I would lose functionally if I go into standby. A bit annoying as it takes some time to find fixes for. You can pretty much program any macro you can dream of and assign profiles. You can also print out your macros for easy reviewing when you're in a game or whatnot. It also features 2 USB 1.1 ports, they are good for mice and slow recharging, but not good for transferring any data. I'm not sure what Logitech was thinking. Also a large joystick toggle switch disables the bottom keys so that they don't knock you out of a game. Very nice for those clumsy people like me. Overall a great keyboard if you need that advantage in gaming.

BEST investment I ever made!

5

I have owned this keyboard for well over two years, and I can honestly say its one of the best keyboards I have ever used. If youre a gamer, or a multitasker this is the keyboard for you! The LCD screen is extremely flexible, as you can display anything you want from CPU speed, to RAM capacity, Date & Time, and even display what's playing in your iTunes. It dosen't stop there! You can control volume and change songs right from the keyboard, which is actually VERY useful when you are in the heat of battle during online gaming. The macro keys are extremely useful, you can program any sequence of keys and even load programs with the push of a button! I use the calculator all the time, and it dosen't get easier than when I push the G1 key and I pops right up. I am an avid gamer, and i was amazed by the performance and response of this keyboard. And to top it all off, the backlights on this keyboard work are excellent, allowing me to enjoy this keyboard at night! If youre looking for a performance and reliability in a keyboard, the G15 series is the type for you! If there is one thing i did not like about the keyboard, and even then it wasn't a big deal, it would be the USB ports. there are not USB 2.0, meaning they have a slower data rate. This makes it slow to load pictures, videos, and operate other devices on it. But as far as loading documents like Microsoft Word files, and spreadsheets, its perfect. This keyboard is already uses a USB connection itself! Asking for more would really be pushing it anyway.

Best Keyboard on the market for price

5

I've owned this keyboard for over a year now and i'm still finding out all the cool stuff it does! Where to start..The screen! The screen has been extremely useful to me for a bunch of reasons. When I first bought my computer over a year ago, I was paranoid over the temps at which my system was putting out. Lucky for me, I had a G15 which aloud me to view the temperatures while in game, change music while ingame, and other neat stuff. The thing I love most about this keyboard is the ability to tell what time it is while in game. I know that doesn't sound too important, but trust me, it's super convenient. The keyboard itself is very sturdy and well built. You can tell right off the bat that this isn't your ordinary keyboard. They macro keys come in handy every now and again, but the key's itself feel like they're new. I've used this keyboard for over a year, and my friends still think it's brand new!

Outstanding Keyboard

5

I liked my G11 so much that I bought the G15 just to see if it was going to be a good keyboard or not. Now quality wise, it's one of the best gaming keyboards that you can buy on the market. I only say one of the best because Razer is now coming out with a new mechanical switch gaming keyboard which kind of tops this one in the quality department. However, forgetting about that, this is the best gaming keyboard on the market. I used this for a good 6 months and it's hard to find programs to actually run using the LCD screen on the keyboard. I just ended up using a temperature program that would tell me my CPU's temperature, HDD temperature and graphics card temperature. However, after that 6 months, the LCD screen went out. I had to RMA it through Logitech and once I sent it back to them, they sent me another G15. However, I was sent the revision 2 of the G15 which sucks compared to revision 1. I ask them about it and unfortunately, they weren't making anymore of the revision 1 G15's so that was all they could give me. I promptly sold it. If you can get your hands on a brand new one, you'll love this keyboard.

great gaming equipment

5

The G15 is part of Logitech's gaming keyboards. I've tested it through our wide variety of computer games and I must say that it is really an astounding piece of equipment for big-time fans of computer games. It is a very high quality keyboard and also impressed by the packaging and of course the actual keyboard itself. The keys register effortlessly and nothing ever get stuck or jammed. There are no issues with glossiness circle are either. There is a small screen at the top center portion of the keyboard and you can display certain information in the a little screen if you so choose. I personally do not have anything displayed as I have no time during my games to look at that screen anyways. I play mostly strategy games which are very quick paced but if you play a slow game it may provide useful to you

Some nice features but the qualitly holds it back.

The Logitech G15 was my first step into the "gaming" keyboard. Prior to this I've simply been typing away on your more generic keyboards. I was excited to finally be taking a leap and spring for (at the time) a fairly decent priced keyboard. Out of the box and set up things were good. I connected it and installed the software for the LCD screen and everything. For the most part this went smoothly and about as simple as any other usb decide you'd expect. The LCD screen can be quite helpful for use on a variety of things. From the standard clock, fps/ram usage and other things to the games that support it. You can select what you want displayed, what you want it to cycle (if you even wnat it to or not). The keys themselves are fine. Not too light to the touch but not too hard to press. It "sounds" about average to me as far as noise goes when you type, certainly not the quietest. The special keys to the left come in handy if you play mmo's or games where extra keys help. The led lighting for the keys works fine. There's the ability to have it at three different levels from off, to light, to brighter. It can help you if you are looking for a key, especially at night or in low light conditions. However my only problem with this feature is that it affects the LCD screen as well, if you turn the led's off it turns it off too. This is annoying if you would rather have the lcd on but the keys and things off (because you know where all the keys are) Overall though I was quite satisifed with this keyboard at first. Then after about three months of use I started to have problems. At first my numlock key started to not respond randomly. I would have to press it a few times to get it to respond. I thought perhaps something was stuck but after popping it out, cleaning and making sure nothing was obstructing it there was still a problem. I made due with it, then a month or so later my left/right arrow keys stopped responding, at all. This time I took out all the keys, cleaned the entire keyboard and still nothing. My previous non-gaming generic keyboard lasted me three 1/2 years, no problems with the keys or anything. I was expecting more from this keyboard. Overall the functions of the keyboard and the LCD are great, additions that I come to like from a keyboard and want in any keyboard I get in the future. However the quality of the keyboard, at least the one I got, really turned me off from getting another one.

Keyboard for true gamers

G15's big size and rectilinear design gives slightly dated first impression. This mental image disappears when keyboard gets power. Keyboard becomes covered with cool blue light and wide black and white LCD-screen wakes up. Keyboard has accurate and stiff touch. Blue backlight is good and you don't have to fumble around buttons when it's dark. Upper edge LCD-screen gives a strong impression. For instance, you can see your ammo & grenade amount when you're playing *Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood*. This screen can also show time of day etc. cool things. You can create your own LCD programs if you know C++. If you don't know C++, you can create your own programs with LCD Studio for example. You can also download made-up utility programs. My favorite programs for the LCD are RSS-feed from favorite websites & e-mail notifier. This keyboard has also 18 different programmable buttons and they are very useful because you can create your button commands on the fly. I've always used Logitech keyboards and this is my main keyboard. Nowadays you can find G15's used for a very good price or maybe some new ones if you're lucky. If you are demanding gamer or PC user, I recommend G15.
