I have an HP Pavilion g series laptop and it gets extremely HOT very quickly. I went without a cooling pad for several months and I know it wasn't good for my lap or my laptop. I researched a lot of different cooling pads before settling on this one, mainly because of the price as cooling pads can get fairly expensive. It was a very good investment though because now I no longer fear that my HP laptop will overheat (or it at least no longer burns my legs). This cooling pad has two settings and I always use the highest setting because I feel like the lower setting doesn't do much. It is fairly loud but it doesn't bother me all that much, it's not a deal breaker when I know it's keeping my laptop much cooler. This cooling pad plugs into your USB port so you do lose one of them but that isn't a big deal for me because I rarely ever even need the other USB port. This cooling pad is extremely light and comfortable when it's on your lap. It doesn't interfere with the use of the laptop whatsoever and I would highly recommend it.

I love my laptop but it tends to get extremely warm fairly quickly. Therefore, a cooling pad is a must, which is why I use the Logitech Cooling Pad N200. First off, I need to state that this works well even though it is somewhat loud. There are two speed controls and I always use the highest setting because I feel that the lower one isn't enough to cool off my laptop. The packaging for this product states that the fan is "virtually silent" but that is only when it is set on the lower speed. The higher speed reminds me of an airline jet about to take off. Just kidding...a little. The loud fan noise is most noticeable to me when I'm up by myself at night using my laptop while watching television. My family is sleeping so I can't have the volume on my television too loud, however, the fan is so loud that I can't help but either turn it off and risk an over-heated laptop, or turn up the tv volume and hope that it doesn't wake anyone. Tough decision, I know. The design of this cooling pad is good with a padded base that feels comfortable on my lap and the air-mesh fabric that allows the cooling air to circulate. It's easy to set up the cooling pad - just plug in the USB cord and turn on the switch. Overall, I like the Logitech Cooling Pad N200 because it really does help to cool off my laptop. I just wish that it didn't sound like an Airbus A320 ready for take-off.
