If there is one thing I can say about these Sci-Fi Channel monster flicks it's that most of them are terrible. So imagine my surprise when after viewing Loch Ness Terror, I was able to say " This one is good! " It isn't a great movie by any means, however I found it to be a cut above most movies of this type. The main reason being that it isn't afraid to show the monsters! I watch these movies to see the monsters and a lot of the time I'm very disappointed. Not so with Loch Ness Terror. There is a lot of monster action to be had here. And while I found the beasties a little too cute ( especially the babies ) for my taste, I was able to overlook it.

The story takes place in a small town on Lake Superior where people begin to disappear both in and around the lake. It soon becomes clear that Nessie has migrated from Loch Ness to Lake Superior via a series of underwater caverns and has laid eggs which have hatched. Can the town sheriff, her son and his girlfriend, the deputy and a crytozoologist save the day before the creatures make snacks of everyone?

The film stars Brian Krause ( Charmed ), Don S. Davis ( Stargate SG-1 ) and Donnelly Rhodes ( Battlestar Galactica).

The CGI effects I thought were better than in most of these Sci-Fi Channel movies. The acting was okay and the locations where the movie was filmed ( I believe it is somewhere in Canada, but I could be wrong ) are beautiful.
