Do you plan to have Thanksgiving dinner at home or will you be eating out?

Dining in!  I can't even imagine eating out on Thanksgiving.

Probably making the whole dinner myself!  Last year was my first time and I enjoyed it!

Dining in, no doubt! I've only spent Thanksgiving away from a warm home twice - once when I was in Belgium (we went to an Indian restaurant and ate with a Dutch woman - we were living the reality of Turkey day!) and once when we say the Cowboys and Broncos play at the old Cowboy stadium in a suite.

This year I'm making Magnolia Pie (pecan pie without the pecans) and probably a nice salad. This is the year in three or four years that it's not at our house!

I'd prefer to dine out (I abhor Thanksgiving food) but the rest of my family loves turkey so we always stay home on TG.  And somehow I always end up being the one who has to cook it.  Ugh. I think this year I'll cook turkey and all the TG schtuff for them and whip up something for myself that I actually like LOL.

I don't know! We'll be celebrating Thanksgiving with the family on Friday, to accomodate everyone's schedule. My sister-in-law is having it at her house this year, so she's cooking the turkey, and we're all bringing a side dish. But I don't know what my immediate family wants to do on Thanksgiving Day itself.

(BTW, once I went out to eat on that Wed., Thanksgiving eve, and the restaurant was empty. If you like privacy, that's the time to go!)

Dining in at 2 different houses - but Dining out isn't all that bad of an option.  We usually have 2 sides to see each holiday so in the past we have had Brunch at a restaurant with one side, then went to the other side to visit after.  It's actually quiet convenient... the only hard part is finding places that are open and take reservations.

For Christmas Eve this year, we are having it at my house and I am considering doing the Boston Market "Heat and Serve" Holiday meal.  So the food will still be at my house, but I won't have to cook so much.  His family is always fine with any food we make for the holidays, so I think they'd be happy with that.

Dining out this year; we decided to treat ourselves and we don't have the room for the 13 that are coming for dinner!  I will prepare a small (10lbs) turkey for me, Mrs. Bard, and our daughter over the weekend.

I actually love Thanksgiving dinner, either eating at someone's home (or HERE, God forbid!) or out.  Eating out on Thanksgiving depends on the circumstances.  I wouldn't like to eat alone at McDonald's on this special day but I have no problem with dining out at a nice restaurant with friends or relatives.

Apparently, a lot of people don't have a problem with it.  The nicer restaurants are mobbed on that day and you definitely need a reservation.  If you have enough people at your table (a family group) sometimes they will give you what is left of the whole turkey to take home for leftovers.

I guess the important thing is not where you eat dinner but having a chance to do so with someone you love.  I even have spent a couple Thanksgiving days alone over the years and -- though I would prefer to eat with those who are important to me -- I still enjoyed the day and was thankful for my blessings.

Didn't mean to get preachy here -- I just want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!  You all will be among the things I'm thankful for on Thursday.  Have a nice day, wherever you eat dinner!

I'm going to the neighbors for Thanksgiving. They're great friends, and even ask for me to bring my guitar. I'm looking forward to the day.
