As a teacher, I preview many books.  This is definately a keeper!  My kids, ages 4 and 5, LOVE the Llama as he bellows for his mama!  This book is a great teaching tool for older readers as well.  The author uses the concept of voice well.

After reading this my daughter walks around and says words that rhyme and tells me that "they sound the same so they rhyme!" because that's what I told her while reading the book. It's very cute and apparently has helped my child learn what rhyming means.

We found this book at the library, and after I read it with my kids, I had to buy our own copy. It is one of the most fun and entertaining picture books I've read in years! My two-year-old "reads" the book to herself, going through all the emotions of fear, anger, and panic that accompany little llama wondering why his momma isn't bringing him a drink of water. She gives the kisses at the end to make llama feel better. My 5-year-old preschooler can repeat the whole book and read it, and even my eight-year-old loves to read it with the family! It is a must-have for your children's book library.... review »

I purchased this book thru Scholastic as one of the featured books of the month. I was not disppointed at all. It is soooo cute and enjoyable. It's easy reading, great rhyming, shows excellent expressions, colorful and funny. What can I say... this was a great book. I don't know if it comes in a hardcover (I would assume it would), I purchased mine as a softcover. The little llama cracks me up and reminds me of my own children and their lack of patience.

I bought Llama, Llama Red Pajama when my daughter was still in my belly.  My husband used to read it to my belly, and it is still a favorite of my daughter.  Great rhymes, sweet message and fantastic artwork.  We have recently discovered another in the series (Llama, Llama Mad at Mama) and it is a homerun too.

Llama Llama Red Pajama is an adorable book! I bought it for my granddaughter when she was 3 and she loved it. I work in kindergarten and all the kids love the Llama books. They love hearing the stories. The pictures are great and the rhyming is certainly a plus! It is a book your child can enjoy hearing over and over!
