Live Free or Die Hard Reviews

When I got an instant message wondering if I'd like to tag along to see the first showing of "Live Free or Die Hard", I jumped at the chance. Literally. I had extremely high expectations for this movie, considering the past 3 have turned into classics. The plot is something along the lines of Detective John McCLane is sent to pick up a hacker, on the FBI's most wanted list, for questioning, when things suddenly turn bad. He's pitted against an internet based terrorist organization who's trying to trying to cause havoc in the United States by using their technology against them.

LIVE FREE or DIE Hard starring Bruce Willis, and directed by Len Wisemen, which was originally released as LIVE FREE 4.0 in Europe, was one of 2007's best action movies.  With plenty of hand made action scenes, and a story line that made sense, I was pleasantly surprised to see how good this movie turned out, but very disappointed to see that it didn't do as well as expected at the Box Office.

If you haven't seen LIVE FREE or DIE HARD yet, it's worth buying the DVD, or at least renting it from Blockbuster.

Many movies lose steam when they get past the second sequel.  For the Die Hard series, they just keep getting better and better and that's no difference with the newest addition Live Free or Die Hard.  As long as they have Bruce Willis starring, this series is a win-win.

Plot:  Without spoiling it, it's about cyber crime and shutting down all systems (transport, financial, utilities).

Why I Liked Live Free or Die Hard:  Great ingenuity keeps this action film from being just another action...

It was great to see Bruce WIllis back in the saddle again.  I really feel that this is the kind of film he shines in.  I am a action movie fan.  I really enjoyed this move and I would go and see it again.  There are certain actors who play the cop with a sense of humor.  I really don't remember who the actress was that got the part of his daughter but I feel that she was a good match.  She brought alot of  energy to her character and to the movie.

It is not hard to say that Bruce Willis has never let his fans down when it comes to packing in the action on the screen.  I think however, that Mr. Willis has gone above and beyond in Live Free or Die Hard.  First of all, the superior cast that was put together for this movie is phenomenal.  Everyone member of the cast certainly complements each other.  The story line is one that keeps you waiting for more and virtually on the edge of your seat.  And, as usual, Bruce Willis comes through with his extreme talent for saving the day and making the bad guys go away.  I think that my favorite...

You killed a helicopter with a car!  Yeah, I ran out of bullets.  Thse lines say it all.  This movie is full of great one liners because of great action sequences.  Bruce Willis is cut up from the get go and keeps going no matter what.  Good looking and smart group of bad guys.....everything you need for a Die Hard adventure. 

The story was believabe and fast paced.  There were so many twists and turns on both sides, just like you'd expect from a Die Hard movie.  The action was high tech and believable.  They'd run and duck and get away, but hide behind stuff that really got hit hard and...

Often sequels get worse and worse as the numbers get higher but not in the case.  The 12 year break didn't matter at all and the action, stunts and special effects were awesome.  In my opinion, the fourth installment to the Die Hard series was the best of them all.  Bruce Willis does a great job wth his sidekick Justin Long. 

In fact, it was so great that it inspired my family to spend the day doing a Die Hard marathon watching all 4 movies in a row.  What a great time that was.

It is a movie of amazing, hold your breath action. Hopefully very unrealistic in terms of what people do to get those against them. I enjoyed the one liners and the street smarts of Bruce Willis in comparison to the relative innocence of Justin Long as the computer geek. The pairing of those two was a good twist on the series. There was some formula, save the girl kind of plotline with good guys vs bad guys but it kept our interest all the way through. Not boring but not complicated.

If you like action and you like Bruce Willis it is a good movie to see!
