A true mini musician!

My son loves this guitar! He dances to the music, which are actually songs (no words) that I like, love shack is his favorite! It's really NOT annoying... first toy we can tolerate as parents! He loves the whammy bar and like to press the buttons to change songs and strum the strings to add his riff! Real entertainment for hours... i'm not kidding. he screams with joy when we get it out!!

This is a really fun toy!

I wasn't sure about this toy at first - several other toy guitars have been disappointing...but I was pleasantly surprised as I saw my son playing w/ this one. *The pros - has several options for play (buttons, lever, strings), multi-colored lights that go along w/ music, volume control/off switch, can be played just as strumming the strings or can push buttons for pre-recorded songs to play while child strums along, is small enough in size to be easily held by most toddlers, can be laid flat as well for a baby to bang around on, seems durable (dropped many times and seems still like new!) *The cons - a little expensive for the size but overall only have good things to say about it

Ok toy, but daughter got bored with it quickly

My daughter (she's 3) is always trying to get my husband's guitar and play with it, so we decided to get her one of her own. Instead of choosing a child size stringed guitar, we chose the Little Tikes Pop Tunes Big Rocker Guitar. At first, she seemed to really love it. It has a lot of bright colors and several different buttons to push. And she drove us nuts with it for a while playing it constantly. It seems to be very loud. But she suddenly just put it down and didn't play with it anymore. I asked her why she stopped playing with her guitar and she said "It's not like Daddy's". She wants a guitar with strings that she can play. I wish we had chosen the stringed one instead. So now we have passed this down to our other daughter who is 1½ and so far she is having a blast with it. I just wonder how long it will be before she also grows bored with it. I suppose this would be good for a younger child who is much more comfortable pushing buttons than plucking strings. But for my 3 year old it just wasn't enough to hold her itnerest.

So much fun!

My daughter received the Little Tikes Pop Tunes Big Rocker Guitar as a birthday gift.  She LOVES it.  Her Daddy plays a guitar and she always wants to play it with him.  He would let her to an extent, but a real guitar is not appropriate for a toddler.  This toy guitar is child sized and she feels like she really playing it like Daddy does his.  It's bright and colorful and easy for her to hold with her tiny hands.  It plays several different songs at the touch of a button.  And, to my understanding, it is fairly reasonably priced.  As another reviewer said, it is a little loud, even on the lowest setting.  But my daughter has so much fun with it that it is worth it for me to put up with the noise.  I love to watch her sing and dance as she plays the guitar.  She shows it to EVERY ONE who comes to our house.  She'll make the Rock and Roll sign with her fingers and say "heavy metal"!  Then she starts playing a song.  It is so cute.  I recommend this guitar for every little musician.

Smaller than I thought

This was a christmas gift to my son a couple of years ago from his grandma. I want to say he was about 2ish. This was actually a very hard to find toy that Christmas but was fortunate enough to find the last one in the store. It's alot smaller than I thought it would be.  I liked the songs it played and how you can pluck at the strings and it would make my son feel like he was actually playing those rockin' notes. He is obsessed with that Smash Mouth song "All star" and if I press any buttons for a different song he goes right back to All Star. This is one of his many guitars and usually brings it along when his dad is playing guitar hero. As far as keeping his attention, I dont think it really accomplished that, he hardly plays with it now, but it was cute for the time it was bought. We also have the piano that matches with the guitar. I think I like the piano more than the guitar, it gets more play.

My two year old loves rocki o his Little Tikes Guitar

My two year old son got this guitar for his birthday. It is quickly becoming one of his favorite toys.  He has taken to bringing this toy with him just about everywhere.  He calls it his "tar" and loves to dance to the songs that he plays. It is truly interactive - the "tuning tabs" light up and synchronize with the songs.  The tunes are catchy versions of popular songs like "All Star" and "Wild Thing." When my son pushes the buttons on the neck of the guitar, it starts playing a song.  He can add his own music to the song by strumming the guitar strings.  I think one of his favorite things is that it looks so much like a real guitar - and alot alike the Guitar Hero guitar that daddy plays. My own personal warning....Its great for my son, but mommy wishes it wasn't quite so loud.  The guitar does have a knob that allows for you to turn the sounds off and for two noise levels - but neither of those levels are very quiet.

Great for toddler

We bought this for our 2 year old so he could play guitar like his big sister. I like this one because it's easy for him to use & is just the right size. The funny thing is that it has pop songs from our era so we can jam out to things such as The Police & Smashmouth vs Twinkle twinkle or Row Row your boat. I think that makes it so much cuter. It is a little on the loud toy but for a childs toy you almost expect that. Great product from Little Tykes. You usually can't go wrong

Great toy for your little musicians!

We purchased this toy for our almost 2 year old last Christmas. He loves all things music! We loved that the guitar had actual strings on the guitar for him to play with that were similar, in fact that is probably his favorite part! He loves to "strum" the guitar strings. We like that it plays different songs, and has buttons for him to push as well. He has very much enjoyed this toy, and it is one that is still played with frequently, especially when his Dad plays Guitar Hero! He likes to play along. The only thing that I wish was that it came with some sort of little guitar strap so that he could wear it while trying to play with it. He always wants to put his guitar on like his Dad does, but there is no strap. I do understand though that that could probably be a child safety problem potentially, but still, it would be nice if the option were available I guess is my point. Overall though, this is a great toy! My son has gotten tons of use/fun out of it.
