Most HelpfulI had one of these and wound up giving it away as my cat didn't like that it moved and made noise. It didn't do that when she was in the box of course, but she noticed it and was a little scared of it I think. Also I thought it was a little messy. Maybe I needed a more premium clumping litter though....

Most HelpfulWe thought this might make life a little easier, with several cats in the house. Nothing could have been further from the truth!
The cats enjoyed jumping in and out of it, for fun, but when they'd try to use it, the motor startled them. And it clogged up. The litter had to be "groomed" to a specific...
review »I purchased a Littermaid when I was about to have surgery and I knew that my husband was not going to take the new chore of cleaning the litter box lightly, even if it was for only a few weeks.
Let me express that I did keep the thing, for two years! This however is only because even though it has its issues, it is still better then a regular litter box. On to the issues:
First, this thing is so LOUD! We had to turn off it at night because if a cat used it during the night, it would wake us up, and then we had to remember to turn it back on in the morning.
Second, the thing would...
review »I was very excited when I got my new LitterMaid, and for a very good reason. LitterMaid cleans the litter box for you. Once a day, usually in the evening, I would empty the little holder in a bag and dispose of it. Terrific ideea. There was only one big problem. Quite often, I've found kitty poop on the floor outside the box. So, I've followed the cat to the box and watched the whole incident. The cat was indeed getting in the box, but her butt was hanging over, and of course, "stuff" got on the floor.
I guess it would work fine for a very small cat or a kitten. I have two adult cats, medium size....
review »Item worked well with one cat or if I have the kitty door open so that my cats can come and go, but the minuite they are confined to indoors and are all forced to use the litter box - wow - it gets bad quickly. Works good for one or two kitty's - not so good when you have more than that. Also does not cover up the odor's as advertised. One positive point was that when the rake did break the company was very good about sending me a new one at no charge since it had a 1 year warranty. Good service. Would not purchase again for my situation.
Bought this and it worked for about 3 days. When I called the service dept. they had me cut the ribbon to the computer chip and send it back so the could replace the whole unit.
Well they did and this time it worked for about 2 months. Yes I will call again but this time I want my money back.
The so called hands off waste disposal does not sit well and some litter does get in under it which winds up on the floor.
The first one I bought lasted the longest (about a year.) After that they kept breaking on me. I guess my multi-cat household was too much for it. One of them just kept cleaning the box every ten minutes. Great unless you are trying to sleep... Forget customer service. Weren't helpful and who would blame them? Would you like receiving broken, dirty litterboxes in the mail to repair?
