Littermaid Automatic Self Cleaning Litter Box LM700 —
Being the owner of 3 cats, two of which are 16 to 19 pounds each and the other one, well, she's just a tiny little thing. You can imagine I am always trying this and that when it comes to the litter box.When the litter maid first came out, it sold for well over $200.00 and most likely a big hit. But to some of us, like me, I am not about to spend that kind of money, especially for a cats poop box.
Then Target came out with a sale on the litter maids. I had some extra money left over from vacation and decided to give it a try. I looked everything over and was pretty pleased with what I was reading on the box. I picked up the premium cat litter, as instructed. Then I had to buy eight.. yes 8 D size batteries!
I set the thing up beside the washing machine. My cats had no trouble using it either. But, and this is a big one, with 3 cats, those batteries only lasted 2 weeks!
Near the end of the battery life, the litter maid kept getting stuck when the cats would pee pee. The clumping litter got to be like clay and clog up the little fork like prongs. Once I replaced the batteries, the thing works like a charm.
Now it comes with an adapter, but you have to have a plug close by to use it. I don't so that feature is a waste to me.
Now I'm not saying this is a poor product; its not. Its actually a very good product and I would have to honestly recommend it to those with one cat. Maybe its just because my cats are so big that this product doesn't work as well as I had hoped.
As I said above, I do recommend this litter maid product. But for those with one cat or 2 very small cats.
