Wanna Go Wireless?
Set yourself free! Wireless changes your life. You're no longer chained to your desk. You can move about the house and porch, from sofa to chair to table to chaise lounge. Gives the body a break, especially if you work online throughout the day as I do.
Which to Buy?
I made the mistake of buying a tiny "travel" router for my first wireless router. Bad mistake; it always got so hot I was sure it could have caused a fire. (When I remember the name of it, I'll review it and save someone else the worry.) Then I bought the more traditional black-and-blue Linksys Router and have had relatively few problems since.
Having TiVo Problems
The only problem I'm having now is my new TiVO unit (see my review) has stopped communicating with the router, and TiVO Tech Support says I have to call the Linksys people to fix the problem. (I use a wireless gadget from Radio Shack on top of TiVO so it can also take advantage of the high-speed cable, rather than dial-up) Without knowing what's causing my TiVO problem, it may be unfair to give the Linksys router 3 stars instead of 4, but I'm just being conservative. Anyway, can you really LOVE a router?
The Bottom Line: Libby Likes It
