Linksys WRT54GS Wireless Router Reviews

i am not a technology wizzard but to be completely honest i would not recomend this product to anyone.  the price seemed right at the time but it was so much hassel.  the guy at the store told me it was basically plug and go but i had to sit on the phone with a customer service representative for almost three hours to get it all set up. and to make matters worse his english was so poor that i actually asked for someone who knew how to speak properly or in a manner i could understand.  the guy told me he would call me back in a half hour after totally messing up the existing modem and never did....

I use my computer everyday, so it is really important that I have a reliable internet connection.  I have been using my cable modem for about three years and like it, but it was inconvenient to always have to be at my desk to do my internet work, or to connect and reconnect the cables whenever I wanted to travel with my laptop.  I found a great solution with this Linksys WRT54GS Wireless Router because I can hook up both my computers to the network, and can be wire free anywhere in the house.  The price I paid for this router was about $60, which I found at Best Buy and it seems like a great...

I purchashed my Linksys WRT54GS Wireless Router when I moved to an area where I could not get Verizon as my internet provider.

Because I am not a techie, I found the Linksys WRT54GS Wireless Router hard to install. I made numberous calls to Linksys to try to hook it up. I was sent to their website, but I still could not do it. I FINALLY got it hooked up when my computer broke. I have not tried to hook the Linksys WRT54GS Wireless Router again.

I would rather get Verizon Internet service than try to hook it up again.

If you want wireless connection this is not for you. The Linksys WRT54GS Wireless Router. It is great if your laptop is sittng nearby the router. If not your signal is very LOW.

I have had this paticular router for awhile, and I must say that it is truly a wonderful router in my own estimation. I've never really had any serious issues in setting it up or using it. You should have some known how to properly hook up a wireless network so that it stays secure, but there are always plenty of tutorials on-line made specifically for linksys routers and they can easily be followed. I have had a few of these. Only one have them has died. But I have had really good luck with them. I won't buy any other brand because they are cheap and they work amazing. I have never had over heating problems or anything like that. The one bad one I got I got used from someone, so who knows what they did to it.I have seen these used in offices and are always on, never have to reset them, and haven't been turned off in like two years. I purchased the Linksys wrt54gs router years ago and haven't had any serious problems with it since that initial setup. Linksys is a highly reliable brand name and is probably THE leader in the industry. The worst that has happened is my internet provider has the occasional issue that has made me had to reset the router (this has only happened about a total of 4 times since I bought and installed it). The speedbooster technology is an added bonus because it does give an added boost. I have replaced the antennas with the longer version to give me better range (about 400 ft) and still get great reception....

 I bought the Lynxus router for Christmas for my boyfriend since he desperately wanted a wireless router to play his xbox with. I'm amazed with the results.

Our internet is actually FASTER with the router than it was before. We have the highest connection our internet provider gives us, and while it was speedy before, pages load in fractions of a second. The router doesn't stall when there are multiple things connected to it, such as when he's on xbox live and I'm on the internet. It's like there's no difference at all.
