Linksys WRT54G Review Summary
Linksys produces a bewildering array of products for a large cross-section of customers from home users to small/medium sized businesses. One of these is the WRT54Gs Wireless Router/Switch with SpeedBooster technology. While most of reviewers lauded the 3-n-1 (Router/Wireless Access Point/4-port Switch) black and blue Linksys unit with one stating: “Linksys is always a reliable router.” not all are enamored of it. One review stated that the unit worked fine until he had to move the computer at which point it lost its connection to the router. Like most Linksys networking gear, the WRT54Gs offers a robust feature set, and are easy to set-up and configure. Although a little more expensive than comparable units, Linksys is known for its dependability and solid performance. As the others have stated before me the WRT54GL benefits from the ability to be flashed with third party firmware. I would not recommend this router to someone who plans to use just the standard firmware, if that's your intent I would go with the WRT54G. However, that being said this router is an excellent buy for someone with networking experience who wants an inexpensive router to do expensive networking tasks.

After suffering through a lot of problems with a rival company router, I listened to some of my more tech-savy friends and got the Linksys wireless router. I have never been happier.
Firstt of all , the set up process is fast and easy. Pop in the CD, follow the instructions to set up the password and security options, and boom. Your newly acquired wireless capability is ready to go!

Ive had very few problems with my router. I have 1 desktop with ethernet and 2 laptops with wireless connected to it and it works fine. Im not crazy about the software that came with it however. It takes forever to load the network or to switch to any catagories to make changes.All in all not a bad router just not great software.
