I bought this Linksys Wireless router when I moved into my first apartment after college. I was a little scared of setting up my own wireless network, but Linksys made it easy. It was very easy to set up - my roommate and I did it by ourselves. (And we are not very technological people). It worked fine, and lasted  for a long time. I have moved several times since then and I am still using the same router. It is nice because you can plug into it for security or a stronger connection, but you don't have to. Also, more than one person can be using it at the same time - either plugged in or wirelessly. We also have a gaming console plugged into it and used the Wireless with that as well. The service does go down sometimes, but usually it fixes itself if you turn everything off and back on again. I don't know enough to know the reasoning for that, or if it even has anything to do with the specific router. Although I don't have much to compare it to, I am satisfied with my Linksys router.

Linksys will link your systems

The best part about using a linksys wireless router is the fact that you know ease of install and setup is just around the corner.  Any time I use a router I usually fall under the problem of not being able to connect my network, or not being able to log in or set up a password or locking and unlocking my network.  Fortunately linksys's easy to use built in web browser menus makes configuring my network a snap. Sometimes the internet goes down but all I have to do usually is reboot the router or just unplug it for awhile and when I turn it back on it is usually as good as new again. One small issue is port forwarding was a little annoying in order to get some of my programs working, but I have yet to find a simple solution ever to port forwarding.  Maybe I am a little slow in that regard.  Regardless I always buy linksys whenever I need a new router and I recommend the same to my friends and family.  Especially considering the price is right, linksys is the way to go.

Purchasing Linksys WRT400N was the best decision I have made over a wireless router. I have used so many wireless routers before that ended up broken after a year or two. Enough now I have only used it close to a year, I have been very happy with the speed, feature, and the fact that I never once had to reset it. The administration interface is very easy to understand and similiar features are grouped together in a single tab. Linksys WRT400N is a dual band wireless N router, which means it can support guess connection if you want to separate unscecured network from the one you are using. Connecting other devices such as computers and printers are very easy, you just connect them to one of the wired port and it's able to recognize it right away. You can also connect them wirelessly, but that requires a bit of work. The manual is very easy to understand with step by step instructions. This is great router to get if you have been frustrated with broken routers before.

Good Product but has Flaws

Purchased the WRT400N along with a Linksys Wireless-N  PCMCIA card for a laptop that did not have a Wireless-N card.  From the beginning the Linksys wireless card did not communicate well, always dropping the connection when communicating via N technology after a couple minutes of use.  I upgraded the firmware for the router as well as updated the drivers for the card and still had the same issue. Communication via G Technology worked just fine.   Recently I purchased a Dell laptop for myself and for my wife with a wireless-N card and I have had no problems staying connected but my wife's computer keeps dropping the N-Technology connection but does not have a problem with the wireless-G connection.  I guess I could take this Router back and get a replacement but the point of this review is that there are some Linksys defects out there. Overall the Linksys product is very easy to configure and it provides sufficient information for a non-tech savy person to get a wireless network up and running.

Linksys should be the only routers sold

Linksys like always has dominated the field of wireless routers, and modems. This router has replaced my old Linksys router of 6 years. Not only does it have durability, but the quality is just awesome! This has to have the best range out of every router I manage to stay connected from quiet the huge distance. My whole block picks up the connection and i live in a big community. The speed is always constant even with up to 7 computers running at the same-time. Does not drop connectivity, nor does it act up. The setup is very simple that the box should say ages 4 and up. Also being able to run to simultaneous types of networks and have great connection is one of the best features about it. I can stream live movies through my Blu-ray, play Call of Duty on my ps3, and run 7 laptops at a time & still be able to do more without a lag of connection or anything that might disrupt the connection of the internet best router out there!

I have used Netgears, D-Links and other Linksys / Cisco devices in the past. I purchased one of the WRT400N's for use at my mother-in-laws home. They are easy to set up, stable, and have a great range (up to around 100ft) in an all-brick/concrete / hard-wood-floored home. The router literally sits in her basement, and at the furthest reaches of the yard (at the mail box) my laptop and Droid's Wi-Fi Analyzer both show a strong signal. Cisco did the world a favor by acquiring Linksys and bringing those products up to standard..

My boyfriend and I bought this wireless router when he purchased his new laptop. This was his first laptop and first time installing any sort of wireless router.  It was very simple to set up and the process only took about 20 minutes or so.  Since we have set it up, we have not had to even touch the thing. It's really slim and blends in with the rest of the devices on his desk.  Sometimes I think he even forgets its there. We have not had one glich since day one and that's a good thing because I'm not sure if he would know what to do if there was one. The price was pretty reasonable and we even received a "package"  price for purchasing the laptop and router together. We were debating on the Linksys or another well known brand and after reading some of the other reviews, I'm glad we chose this one.   I am very satisfied with this router and would definitely recommend it to anyone even if they are not very tech savvy.

If you live in a condominium like me, you're always afraid of your neighbors stealing your bandwidth. With the Linksys WRT400 Wireless Router, my wife and I are able to simultaneously play an online MMORPG together with zero lag and watch a movie streamed from Netflix on our xBox 360, all at the same time. The easy to set up 128-bit security encryption gives me a warm fuzzy at night knowing our home network is secure. It's a little on the pricey side, but if you want the best, you want the Linksys WRT400 Wireless Router.

Linksys has a fast wireless connection, but sometimes glitches.

With the Linksys wireless router I own, we have a few problems. We have worked it out with the customer service representatives, who told us that when using a 3rd party router along with a Linksys router you may have glitches. The glitch I often have is that when I'm working on my laptop my internet disconnects itself randomly. When I click "connect to wireless" and look for my wireless ID name, it doesn't show up as an option. I've had this problem often. Customer service tells me that this will happen often when using 3rd party devices. There is a simple way to fix this problem. Other than this, the Linksys wireless router is a great product. I have a very fast connection on my laptop as well as the other WiFi-capable devices around the house. This router is optimum for multiple wireless devices. In my household we have 2 laptops, a home computer, an X-Box 360, a PlayStation 3, and about 6 Wii consoles using 1 wireless router. I believe if you use only the Linksys brand devices you would find this to be a perfect product.
