Good Old Router

5

The Linksys BEGSR41 wired router was my very first router. It was very expensive at the time. The device includes moderate configuration profiles. Compared to Linksys's own smaller network switch, this device is humungous. This device supports 4-5 wired clients at 10/100 megabits per second. However, this router did not have a very long life. Thunderstorms and potential surges somehow destroyed this item. Only some of the ports work. Others work at 10 megabits per second. It is very frustrating to diagnose. Therefore, I recommend protecting both the ethernet ports and power ports with a good surge protector. APC and other brand names should work well with it. The exterior design is blue and black. The device sits flat on your desk or floor, taking a considerable amount of space. The device does not a stand to reduce the space it takes. At this day and age, I recommend getting a wireless g router or better.

LinkSys Has Shoddy Products That Do Not Last

1

This was my second LinkSys router. My first lasted about 3 years which I guess is not too bad but shouldn't electronics pretty much just work indefinitely? This router I replaced it with lasted all of about 6 months. Ridiculous. And of course I can't take it back now or find my receipt. I am going to replace this with another brand. I used to think a lot higher of LinkSys but this proves that they just do not have a high regard for quality with their products and are making their money on brand name recognition alone rather than putting out products that will last. Pros? Well the router was very easy to set up. And when it worked it did work pretty well. I liked that it had ports on it for hooking up my desktop and then I could set my Wii and PS3 up wirelessly and laptops and iPhones and stuff like that. So there some advantages to it. If it was still working I would still be a happy camper with the product. But of course, since this is my second LinkSys to die on me I can't see it as a fluke, I can't be THAT unlucky and something has to be wrong with their QC.

This Linksys BEFSR414 Wireless Router is a fair investment.

This router is a fair investment because it stays connected for while but the only thing that isn't good about it is that it disconnects sometimes during downloads and browsing the internet. When it stays connected the speed is good.

The Cisco Linksys BEFSR414 Wireless Router last for years.

4

I have had my Cisco Linksys BEFSR414 Wireless Router, for about 4 years, and it still works great. I have no problems with gaining axcess to my wireless, bluetooth, or Wi-fi devices. From my experience the range stregnth is great, I can easily keep a connection well outside my home of 2200 sq ft. I dont use the ports on the back that much. The few times I tried I would have to work with the connection alot to make sure the wires were attached sucurely. Other then that no problems works great, fast connection and great strength.

A good buy for a small network

3

This was the first router that my family had puchased. Quickly learning that everyone in the house wanted a computer to them self. The router did the trick, but at the same time for the money it cost when we purchased it, it could have been better. We had a good service provider and still at times the time it took to load a page was rather annoying. Also with four computers hooked into this router, plus consol systems, and laptops wireless connected, {lotsa tech in this house} it just did not do the trick. If you are low on cash today and need to get a router to do some basic tasks such as connecting a single console over a distance with the wireless, this router will do the trick. If your looking for a router that delivers a strong singla for multiple PC's, game consols, laptops, phones and whatever else you can think of that wants to tap into your wireless signal, then you should probably expand your search, possibly your budget and get a decent router that will work over the years and can handle future additions to the network.

The Linksys EtherFast BEFSR41 Router is simple and easy to use

4

I own one of these products and I must say it was a good purchase. It is very simple (I do not like complicated electronics) and easy to install, and I am using it for a small LAN Home Network. I own 5 computers and I have connected all of them with this router. The network never dropped and I am using the internet on it as well.

The Linksys EtherFast Router is a hit!

5

I've been using this router for several months now, and the quality of the wireless output is incredible. With my old router, I couldn't leave the main floor without losing several bars of connection power. With this Linksys EtherFast Router, i'm able to travel throughout my house and even in the backyard without losing connection. This router is great for hooking up multiple computers, or just refining your families online experience. All I can say is that this router far exceeds my expectations.

Wireless proves beneficial for anyone's computer.

*Linksys* has made my view of wireless much more simpler. My stepmother owns this type of wireless system and it certainly has changed our opinions of computer usage. In the past, we thought it wasn't necessary for our computer, but when we had some help from a computer technician, we were proven wrong. Since we own a laptop, internet use would mean that it doesn't always need to be done at close range for it to work. The wireless router allows us to use our laptop anywhere within our house. I'll admit that it may be slow on some occasions, but it still proved beneficial for us.

Maintenance free performance

Prior to this I had a standard linksys routerr ,due to the set up of my house and growing number of computers on site i opted to get a wireless router to expand options of where i could move my computer to.. I had tried one other brand wireless router prior to linksys as the store i went to didnt have linksys in and i just wanted to get the job of moving everything over with... big mistake had to keep moving the attenae around and fiddling with my computer to ever get a connection and even then it would be intermittent and unreliable.. long story short i returned that one and drove the extra distance to get a linksys. it has been flawless operation right from the box for me, i adjusted the attenae one time in the few months i had it set up and no loss of signal, no sluggish reply on the network. I am quite pleased with my purchase and would continue to buy from linksys in the future and could honestly give my endorsement to their routers. Good quality at a good price and simple enough that even my mother could figure out how to set it up.

Good on all levels, but could use some work

4

Well, here's how it goes, about two weeks ago I bought this router, thinking it would solve all my problems of having to run lengthy ethernet cables from room to room to be able to use my laptop and other desktop computers and video gaming systems. but, in the case of the strength and frequency that this router has, I thought wrong. the linksys router, dont get my wrong is really really good in that i get good distance, great connectivity, and its been working well, but sometimes i need to restart it because the connections get a little laggy, and it doesnt seem to want to go through my floor into my basement where my home office is where i would use it the most. unless anyone is thinking of putting this router upstairs and using it downstairs then this isnt the router for you, but otherwise i belive it is the best that ive used, and ive used many. just be weary on the setup sometimes it gets a little in depth
