Good Old Router
The Linksys BEGSR41 wired router was my very first router. It was very expensive at the time. The device includes moderate configuration profiles. Compared to Linksys's own smaller network switch, this device is humungous. This device supports 4-5 wired clients at 10/100 megabits per second. However, this router did not have a very long life. Thunderstorms and potential surges somehow destroyed this item. Only some of the ports work. Others work at 10 megabits per second. It is very frustrating to diagnose. Therefore, I recommend protecting both the ethernet ports and power ports with a good surge protector. APC and other brand names should work well with it. The exterior design is blue and black. The device sits flat on your desk or floor, taking a considerable amount of space. The device does not a stand to reduce the space it takes. At this day and age, I recommend getting a wireless g router or better.
