Linksys EtherFast EZXS55W 5-Port Ethernet Switch Review Summary

Linksys produces a bewildering array of products for a large cross-section of customers from home users to small/medium sized businesses. One of these is the Etherfast EZXS55W5-Port Ethernet Switch. Most of our reviewers did not find the small 5-port switch very useful, in fact two reviewers complained of a myriad of troubles including failed ports and a faulty power adapter. Still another reviewer found the Etherfast EZXS55W5-Port Ethernet Switch very useful indeed, stating “I am very pleased with my new EZX55W 10/100 Switch. I have noticed an immediate boost in throughput not only over the wired segment of my PAN, but the wireless portion as well.” The signature blue & black switch from Linksys features (5) auto-sensing 10/100 Ethernet ports as well as status lights on the front of the unit. Bottom-Line: If you need a small workgroup switch you can't go wrong with the Linksys EZX55W 10/100 Switch.

I bought this once. Exchanged it once. I then threw it away and bought a different router. Everytime the power would flicker or go out, it would burn out the cable. I had nothing but trouble with this one

Once this router was hooked up the trouble began.  I could never get online, my roommate could.  It made no sense.  After a month and a half of us trying literally everything (contacting every support out there in www), we called in the geek squad.  They identified the problem and told me that they take more Lynksys out of homes than any other router.  Just felt like passing this on.
