I've had Lingo VOIP service for over 1 year now. For all my calls in the US and 23 other countries, I pay less than $26 with taxes included.

The service works great and the way the "box" works it can provide enhanced calling depending on how you have your network installed.

Since changing my network to DSL from Cable; my modem is the wireless router too, call quality is still good, but not quite as good as when you go from modem to Lingo Box, to router. Allowing the Lingo Box to take the bandwidth it needs to provide best quality does work the best. Since this switch, I've found it harder to send the occasional fax that I need to send and occasionally, the call quality is not as good.

So, depending on your network and bandwidth; for any VOIP provider, you can have great call quality and features for a lot less than standard land lines. I save way over 50% from Qwest local only and per minute or flat rate plans they offer for long distance.

I had Packet8 prior to Lingo. When they raised their prices and had a per minute cost to Germany, I switched. For the same fee, I can call anywhere I want to call.

True it might be cheaper in the long run, kind of depends on if prices keep going up due to this oil fiasco. Noticed your uniform in your picture, Thanks for your service! My Dad was U.S.A.F. for 25 years, my brother has been in since 68'. ;)

It can, we do from time to time... Still been contemplating dropping home service and going with our cell phones only. The only thing would be the occasional call to Germany. Since we don't do that too often, it might be worth saving the $26 and then on the occasional call would have to keep it short.

Sounds like a good solution for people that make a lot of LD calls. ;) Ron
