With 3 parrots in the house, that means there are 3 cages and 3 playstands to deal wtih.  I work full-time, I run an animal rescue out of my home, and I have the normal day-to-day cooking and cleaning to do.  I am all about anything that will save me time and make my life easier.  Enter Life's Great Poop-Off Bird Poop Remover.

This product claims to "instantly dissolves bird droppings" and other things on "bird cages, walls, carpet, clothing, bird toys, floors, upholstery, etc."  The label states that it will remove droppings from all types of avian diets including "seed, fruit, nuts, meat, veggies, nectar, bugs, grains, formulated diet, and greens."  Poop-Off contains enzymes and surfactants to loosen and lift dried stains like poop or food.

To use Poop-Off, you simply spray it onto the stain/droppings, allow it to sit for a few minutes, and then wipe everything away with a sponge or paper towel.  When there is a really tough or large mess, I usually have to spray, wait, wipe and repeat a few times before the area is completely cleaned.  This product is a godsend as we have hardwood floors and my Blue & Gold Macaw sometimes shoots poop off of his playstand and away from the large mat that we have underneath it.  If I don't notice it and wipe it up right away, it dries and that makes things tricky.  I can't use the scouring side of a sponge on the wood as that would scratch the finish, so I'm happy that I always have a bottle or two of Poop-Off around to help me remove the mess.

I usually pay about $20 for a 25+ ounce spray bottle of Life's Great Poop-Off Bird Poop Remover.  That is pretty steep, but I use it only for those times that my macaw makes a mess on the hardwood floor.  For regular cage cleaning, I use a steam cleaner and the scouring side of a Scotch-Brite sponge.  For our limited use and the peace of mind that I have knowing that it is in my cabinet, I find Poop-Off well worth the cost.
