Loving my first Semester here!

This is not the first experience with online college for me and my last one was not a positive one at all. It took me 8 yrs to decide to give it another try and I truly believe God guided me to LU and I have been very happy with all aspects of LU thus far. Class Selection My major and every other class that I needed and wanted to take are available through LU. As far as the process of actually selecting and signing up for the classes, was so easy and you are guided every step of the way with very kind, patient, understanding and knowledgeable staff. Teaching Quality My professors are wonderful, supportive and inspiring. I know they have a full caseload and teach more than just the class I am in but with the extensive one-on-one support they provide, you would never know it. They are thorough with reading, correcting and grading my assignments and they are so helpful when I stumble upon any questions or assignment directions. Financial Aid LU has an excellent FA department. They are always available to explain things and make FA easy to apply for and follow up on. My entire tuition was covered by FA and it would not have been possible without the knowledgeable FA staff and the effort the put forth to ensure each student gets every FA benefit they are eligible for. Accreditation I did a lot of research on several online colleges before deciding which one to apply to and one of the top reasons for applying to LU is that they are so highly accredited.

It worked for me!

I guess most people have heard of Liberty University or Jerry Falwell and drawn certain conclusions. I was definitely not one of Jerry's kids and I did not drink the Liberty Kool-Aid but this online program was rewarding for me and definitely where God led me. This prices are good, I would put the seminary online prices up against any in the country. Money alone is a good reason to apply because it a plus. I completed the Master of Divinity which was 90 credits so I had quite a bit of experience with them. The program of course changed through those five years I was in the program. I would say the professors for the most part were excellent. I say that because most of them are men who are scattered around the country and are adjunct and are not directly affiliated with Liberty. I had a problem with a few who were part of the "Liberty" way and then there is that occassional professor who thinks he is an english professor, but for the most part, they were available, flexible and ordinary men. I hated school growing up so an online program where I could take the information and learn it at my pace was great. The classes are 8 weeks online and action packed. Be prepared to write 15-20 page papers in most classes. The biggest disappointments were the discussion boards. Ninety percent of the students were lazy and waited till the end of the week to post. This is not good for a disciplined student who wants and needs to get their work done during the early part of the week because of life's demands. Let's face it, people in an online seminary program are going to be busy and they need to have their schedule in place. Again, this program worked well for me, it may not work for you, but it worked great for me!

Liberty University Online

Now 20+ years after graduating with a Bachelor's Degree I have decided to go back and pursue my Master's degree. I am a vocational pastor and have never completed my seminary work. I chose Liberty University Online to do my work. I needed a program in which I could participate without having to drive great distances or take extensive time away from my current work. Liberty Online allows you to complete your entire graduate program through distance learning without ever having to visit campus. It is fully accredited and its degree programs are varied and interesting. One of the reasons I chose Liberty is because of its reputation as a conservative, Baptist school which fits with my background. The courses are intensive in nature and are often broken into 8 week sessions. In my particular program, the Master of Divinity Program, there is a lot of reading and writing involved. They offer plenty of writing assistance to help bring your writing up to the graduate level if needed. You even have the option of taking 1 week "Intensives" at the campus in Lynchburg, Virginia if desired. Some intensive actually involve overseas travel and study if you are so inclined. All in all pursuing my degree is challenging, but the instructors at Liberty are caring and sympathetic to the plight of the working student. I highly recommend it.
