Good budget color laser
I love laser printers. They cost a bit extra up front, but without the endless cartridge replacements they pay for themselves after a few years. Another good point -- they actually LAST more than a year or so. Good investment! I bought this printer to supplement a very high-end Xerox printer used in color-correct digital artwork prints as a rough-draft machine. The toner lasts a pretty long time, and Lexmark's toner recycle program is a really nice perk. They make it very easy to return carts for a nice discount on new ones - the whole process is virtually painless. The toner for this unit is more expensive than I'd usually expect for a unit like this, but the recycling program helps. This printer is NOT color correct, so do not purchase if you plan on creating proofs or printing color-accurate work. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it is nowhere near what the high-end Xerox puts out. For typical office work and digital artwork drafts, however, it's a wonderful machine.
