Defective printer, less than 1 month old; BAD Customer Service
Disgusted is what I am. Bought this model on 19 June 2011, and the printer head stopped working, after fairly light home usage, on 7 July 2011. During a long, difficult call to Customer Service (difficult because reps English was so heavily accented that I had repeated trouble understanding him), Customer Service told me that a "manufacturing defect" was clearly the problem and that I would be sent a replacement immediately - to arrive no later than 12 July. Nothing arrived, so I called Customer Service on 13 July, only to find that there was absolutely no record of my previous call, nor of any replacement head having been sent. As if he were reading from a script, the rep, "Chris," gave me the exact same assurances (almost verbatim) I had been given during the 8 July phone call. He "guaranteed" me (once again) that I would receive a replacement within 2 business days, that he had already dispatched the order, that he would throw in a set of ink cartridges (that was nothing new either), and that he would send me an email confirmation of our phone call and his report number. It is now 3 hours later, and I have received no such email. I am already sorry I bought this printer, and I emphatically would NOT recommend it to anyone. I will never again buy a Lexmark product.
