Lexmark X6650 All-In-One InkJet Printer is awesome!

5

I use to have the Lexmark X6650 all in one printer & just loved it! It was the very 1st printer i had ever set up & it was a breeze as well as learning how to use it.The great features it has that i really liked are you could share it with as many computers as you want, has card reader slots which was a huge plus for me. It also has a 99 speed dial option, you can save fax numbers in the address book, has a junk fax blocker, has caller ID which was also a very nice feature and you can decide to print with either color or black and white.Another thing the print quality was very good and i didn't think the pictures printed off would turn out good, but actually they looked very good too. I had it for a little over 2yrs and it always worked great until my kids knocked it off the desk & even a few months after that it still worked & i suppose something was broke in it from the fall because i went to send a fax & it wouldn't do anything & made a awful noise which was our fault,so that's why i no longer have it and as soon as i am able to i will have another one,so i highly recommend the Lexmark X6650 all in one printer.

The Lexmark X6650 Wireless All-in-one is a peach of printer

4

This Lexmark X6650 Wireless All-In-One Printer has a plethora of productive peripherals at a pittance of a price. This printer does it all and is backed by the name and quality assurance from the dependable Lexmark brand name. The day my old school Lexmark X75 printer bit the dust(it lasted 8 years!), and my other Canon printer at my office had one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel,  I purchased both the Lexmark X6650 and the X7675 printers. The two printers are both high quality and the differences were minimal, aside from the higher price tag of the X7675. The main differences in the two are that the X7675 prints double sided(for increased paper and ink conservation) and the fact that the X7675 has a beautiful color 3.5 inch status screen. This Screen is, also, very helpful if you take digital pictures as it shows a crisp preview of the picture being printed/faxed/scanned/copied. This option to me, was for a few extra bucks for my home use. This X6560 printer is a great addition to my office. The printer is durable and reliable. I print, copy, and scan many documents on this one and it suits that purpose well. The only negative I have to say about theis printer is the fact that like my X7675. you cannot reset or manually override the ink level indicator on the print prompt screen. This is a minor pain in the rump, but I don't mind since I save a ton of money getting ink refills as opposed to new cartidges. All in all, the Lexmark X6560 All-in-one printer is an outstanding value for the money. Lexmark hits the ball out of the park with this printer. Definitely a must have for any home or office.

Decent printer but still not thrilled about it

2

We purchased this printer when our very expensive Hewlitt Packard Printer broke. It was on sale for a good price and the employee raved about it so we figured we'd try it out. My overall feeling on it can be summed up in one word.. "Ehh". It's not so much that it's a bad printer but there's some issues with it. For starters, it's quite bulky. we  always have to disconnect it and put it somewhere else when we're not using it because it takes up so much desktop space that we could barely move the mouse for our computer so that's a little annoying. I prefer my printers to be plugged in all the time and easily accessible. Another odd thing about it is that the papers shoot out very fast and fly across the room when they come out. It's kinda annoying to have to chase after your papers as they're printing. I wish they'd just lay in the paper tray or dock like most printers do. Lastly, the most problematic thing about this printer  for me is that it's very hard to change  the ink cartridge. It has a very strange build. It took 2 hours and 3 people to figure out how to do it and we are not stupid people. I will give credit where it's due though. It prints great quality photos and faxes documents in a speedy manner. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because it has more flaws than quality.

Lexmark X6650 slow print and copy function

3

In the place I used to work I had the task getting this copier up and running.  The installation process went without a hitch.  Hooking up everything was easy.  All went well.  During the day I would hear it making phantom noises.  I was there three and a half months after it was installed and never got used to hearing it two or three times on a daily basis.  I know it saved a lot on ink but I had at the signal I had to push the start button to receive a fax.  Somehow we managed to get the important one.  It's very slow to copy and print but faxes go through pretty quick.  All in all it's a good printer but the noise and slowness was aggravating.

The Lexmark X6650 All in One Printer is great!

5

I have used several different kinds and brands of printers in the past.  I run a small business out of my house and I needed to have a printer that can fax, copy, print, and scan.  After looking at many reviews I ended up buying the Lexmark X6650 All In One Printer.  I really like it.  You are able to select if you want to print in just black and white or color.  There are many different options for the scanning feature.  The faxing capabilities are great.  You can also print color pictures and the quality comes out great.  I really like that you can load the papers to be faxed or scanned on the top to be fed through, or you can open up it up and place them inside.  I absolutely love that this printer has wireless capabilities.  I haven't had any issues with that.  There were a few things I am not too happy about though.  I don't really like the cost of the replacement ink cartridges and they seem to run out of ink fast.  Other than that this is a great printer.

Lexmark all in one, x6650 - NOT worth the money I paid for it

2

What a complete waste of money.  I have wireless set up between one pc and 2 laptops. Before only the pc could print so we thought this was a great thing.  After setting it up, several items became problems. The wireless works on all 3 for printing, though the actual pc I first hooked it up to can no longer print grocery coupons like before, using either the lexmark toolbar or the regular 'file, print' option.  I have to use one of the laptops for that.  Also, we can't use the lexmark toolbar print option on the laptops or the pc either - must use file, then print from there. When using the lexmark toolbar, all that prints is the wording at the very top and very bottom of the page - the entire middle is completely missing! (This has happened more than once - we just don't use it now). I will say that the print quality is good though, but copies aren't.  They're not bad by any means, but you can tell right away it's a copy.  It takes forever to make copies too... at least a full minute goes by before the first copy is printed out.  I had a 5 page document to copy and it took me about 5 minutes to complete and that's just too long for any copy machine.  I purchased the extra photo print cartridge but I didn't need to - the picture/photo quality on good photo paper is just great with the regular color cartridge.  Waste of money on the extra photo cartridge, but good to know the quality is just fine without it. Scanning pictures is a true pain.  Using the lexmark programs that is, and I haven't quite figured out how to get around them.  They're not very user friendly at all, and my mother who used to be able to do all this with the old printer now has problems with scanning  - sometimes it just doesn't work at all on her pc - and has given up.  They don't have very many options to them and it can get confusing, even to me and I've been using these types of products since they first came out on the market.  Our old printer used to let us scan in old slides and this one doesn't - we went so far as to hooking back up the old printer just for that (as it doesn't print well at all anymore).  Not many people need this option though, so it's more of a side note. I haven't yet hooked up the fax, so I can't say anything about that just yet.  As for reading the memory cards from our cameras/camcorders... thanks, but I'll go back to using my laptop for that one.  When you insert the card to be read, it takes absolutely forever for anything to pop up on the screen to even let you know it's reading it - no light blinking, nothing.  When something does finally show up, it gives you a strange way to transfer pictures, and only one way.  Even with my laptop, I don't use the program that came with it. I cancel it out and go to Windows Explorer, highlight and transfer, then delete the files from there so I don't wear down the batteries in the cameras.  I've always done it this way and it works best.  Trying to do this on the lexmark is a total pain, and even worse trying it through the network.  The pc we use is not old, has plenty of space and memory to complete these tasks, but you'd think it was still a windows 3.1 at how long it takes!  We just use my laptop to transfer pictures, then put them on a memory stick that fits in the usb port and put them on the pc.  It's faster and easier. As for the size of it - it's pretty big.  I figured it would be bigger than most because of it being an all in one, but a previous review mentioned "The Lexmark Is a reasonably compact printer".  I find this to be false.  It's too big to put on our filing cabinet where the last printer was, so we had to move our livingroom end table over and that's what we have to use.  The printer is not "monster" size however, it's just NOT compact. The paper tray is nice and large though and fits lots of paper, so that's nice.  And, the set up and test printing with all three of my computers was really fairly easy.    I would not recommend this all-in-one to anyone and I'm skeptical now of buying any lexmark because of it.

Great scanner but installation is not user friendly.

The installation of the software didn't go well.  I followed all the steps and it told me I had to download something from microsoft.  That didn't work.  Tech support had to go into my computer and do the installing.  It took them awhile.  The software is great now that it is running.

This is a great scanner, printer, copier, and fax.

This is more dependable them any other all in one printer that I have used. I use it for everything. The ink is a lot cheapier then the last printer I had, and the printer itself was a lot better price then the others like it.
