I love Lexmark Printers, especially this model. It's the only brand of printer I will buy.  It works great, copies are clear, photos are fantastic and it has so many fantastic features.   I couldn't believe how great this all-in-one printer worked after paying so little for it.  This has got to be the best deal for the money out there these days.  My only true complaint is that I can never get the cartridges to work right if I refill the ink so you almost have to keep buying new cartridges which I hate.  I don't lilke spending extra money on ink.  It seems ridiculous to have to do so but each time I have refilled my Lexmark cartridges, it seems to know and it does not like it.  Smart of Lexmark I guess since it makes them more money but very annoying for the consumer on a tight budget.

Bought this all in one printer last christmas  for the family and we have used every single feature on it! Well worth the money with all the things you can use it for, stopped using my normal copier and using this built in copier instead. Easy to install.

easy to use, excellent print quality and fairly quiet.  It replaced a HP PSC 950 which was 5 years old and I am better satisfied with this Lexamark than the HP and purchase price for the Lexmark was less than  one half of the HP.

This model has a scanner, fax, color and Black printing.  Average quality and speed, but for the price range  (69.99 at BestBuy) a great value.  On Windows XP this runs without a hitch.  I also ran it for a while on an old Windows Millenium OS and it worked fine --  I had to download a special driver for that.  I would recommend this printer to anyone who does ocasional scanning, faxing and light printing.

I like to do comparable shopping and in the past I have purchased HP all-in-one printers and peripherals. I find while the products work well in the beginning they malfunction after six months to a year.The Lexmark X5470 has served me well. It is inexpensive, scans to email, files and notepad and its a flatbed scanner. The print quality is pretty good although not perfect and the fax works well also. I do find the copying feature a bit slow but the quality of the copies are good.The instructions for the setup of the fax machine is confusing. After trial and error I finally got it right, but I don't use the fax machine that often.It does use a lot of ink but unless I really need it I tend to print more in black for documents. I only use the color when necessary. I don't use this printer for photos although you can. I can't rate the quality though.Overall I think this is a good, efficient and less expensive all-in-one printer.

Lexmark all-in-one x5470.  I have loved it from day one.  Tried to save some money and used 'refilled' ink cartridges.  Soon found out printer knew and refused to work.  Called Lexmark and they informed me of the above information.  Then they tell me about their 'club'.  You buy 5 cartridges and they send you one cartridge for free.  You can even decide which cartridge you want; color or black.  They also will recycled your old cartridges.  Lexmark will provide postage paid envelopes for you to return the used cartridges.  When you return 5 cartridges, they will allow you to order one totally for free.  No shipping charges. I know of no other company that gives you cartridges fro free when you buy cartridges or when you return used cartridges to them. I just found out they now have black and color cartridges that are special.  They contain more ink.  This is what I have been ordering for my free cartridges.  What a sweet deal! It is especially nice for faxing.  I do not do much faxing; however, it sure is nice to be able to do it right from home.

I have had the Lexmark X5470 All In One Printer for a few years and one of the good things I can say about it is that it's very durable. My kids have bumped into it and even spilled stuff on it and It still works as well as it did the first day I got it. Also, it is very easy to use, so it would be appropriate for people who may not be the most computer savvy. However, one of the biggest drawbacks to using this Lexmark printer is that the ink cartridges are somewhat expensive in comparison to other brands. Plus, the ink cartridges do not go a long way. You may get only a few sheets if you are printing pictures, which is my main use. For simple copies and documents, this printer would be suitable, but if you are looking for something in which you will be doing a lot of photo printing, this is definitely not the printer for you. Not only that, the pictures that you do print aren't of the very best quality. I would probably recommend going with another brand or at the very least another model if you are looking for something that is inexpensive

This printer will do a nice job of all of your printing needs that an inkjet printer is capable of. It is quick and gives you many options to work with. The built in fax works flawless. It also has built in card readers for various card sizes, copies, & scans as well.Print quality is very good. There is however one problem and that is the printer not recognizing the ink cartridge as having ink in it. I cleaned cartridge heads multiple times, and followed all tech support ideas, only to have to prematurely replace ink cartridges before they actually expired. This has happened twice in less than a year.Usually it is the black cartridge. Other than that the printer works well. bwf

This printer has come in handy for our everyday life.  We have used this to scan, copy, fax, and print documents.  We've never had any problems with this printer.  The ink that this printer uses is a little expensive but you can use store brands instead.  We would definitely buy another printer from Lexmark again!

The lexmark x5470 all in one inkjet printer is a printer that does it all.  The all in one's seem to be the rage these days complete with scanner, copier, and printer, but it is rare that you find a unit that delivers quality print outs from all 3 modes of printing.  The lexmark also has faxing capabilities, so it is perfect for an at home office setup if you are looking to do business from your home.  There are many card slots which make it easy to just put in your picture memory card and print pictures instantly...no hassles of uploading to your computer!  The all in one unit is energy efficient and has earned energy star rewards. I have also found that even though it prints high quality pictures, it does so in an efficient manner so you are not waiting forever for your documents to print.  The standard black and color cartridges come with the printer, and while replacements are expensive, there are more expensive ones on the market.
