My brother bought this printer for me last Christmas(so you know it had to be a good deal..lol) I really cant believ how simole and easy it is to use(I still cant type on the PC w/o looking at the keboard. Ithas an easy to read manual and also a tutorial site to guide you.It is great for home  use from coupons to copying important papers.I eben know how to use it to download pics from my camera(copying it to a disk is a different matter..lol) If you run out of either black or colored ink..it tells you and you have the option to switch over to the one that isnt empty..If I can use it..anybody can! Performance I dont know if I wore it out clipping coupons,but it finally broke.I was happy with it and the ink wasnt as expensive as some Copy Quality very easy to use for copying and printing coupons Ink/Paper Use The ink didnt seem to last that lond but you could use any type of paper Ease of Use very easy to use and the help site was very percise Durability I have to give it an OK because it did break down and I received a different brand this Christmas Design The design was very good..very easy to use

Right out of the box it connected to the Wifi network for the PCs but I couldn't get it to work with the Mac(which I use most). I used it for a month connected through the usb to the mac and finally decided to give it one more try. My advice is follow the instructions exactly and connect with your Mac first if you have one. Make sure your printer is on and through the whole warm up setup process before you even try to install it to your computer. Also make sure it's in range of your wireless router. Now that it's connected its great. I just leave it on all the time and it sleeps on it's own. Whenever you print to it, it turns itself back on and get the job done everytime. The only other thing is the color printing takes forever, much slower than whats posted in the overview. I think those speeds are for when the printer is connected via usb cable and not through wifi. In conclusion I love it very convenient if you have a few laptops in your house and don't want to connect to a printer. The connection to PC is quick and foolproof, it's connecting to a mac that has to be done exactly as the instructions say.

I love this Lexmark printer most of the time. For some reason every once in awhile it won't feed the paper through properly. 95% of the time it works just fine. I love the wireless capability. I really do like this printer for the most part if I could just figure out why it decides to go crazy every now and then. The paper sometimes jams and other times the paper won't go through straight. There is a problem with the software or something. The machine won't scan if you just push the button on the machine itself, you have to go into your computers control panel and right click on the Lexmark scanner and then click on scan to get it to work. It prints out nice and photo quality is real nice. If you can fiqure out how to straighten out its flaws it would be great.

I have had this printer for two years now I think, and Im ready to get a new one. Functionally there is nothing wrong with it, they just get out dated so quickly and you always search for ones with cheaper ink and what not. I have this printer hooked up to a desktop and a laptop wirelessly. It has many funtions on it and the quick select buttons on it are nice to have. You can make color or black and white copies at the push of a button, which is a nice feature. The only thing that get confusing on it is when you use just the scan feature. You have to select the computer to send the scan to and I have had issues with it scanning and nothing coming up on the screen. The resolution is ok, its not like getting photos from store, but if someone wanted a quick copy of a picture it will do the job. You must use high quality photo paper or the pictures dont come out great. Also the ink does take a while to dry, so be sure not to touch too soon. If you wanted to use mainly for photos, I recommend buying a strictly photo printer.

What can I say about the Lexmark X4550? It does just about anything a printer can do...it can copy, scan, print, and is wireless. Now, I am not one for lots of complicated electronic equipment, so this little printer does it's job for me and does it well. I absolutely love, love, love the fact that it is wireless. I don't think that I could ever go back to a wired printer again. I can be sitting on the sofa in the living room and decide to print a document right then and there and...poof...it's printing. Now if I could just get it to load paper itself, it would get 5 stars! We've had this printer for a couple of years now and have had no problems with it. Due to the hard abuse that my kids put on it, the scanner cover has come loose but it still sits where it's supposed to so it really isn't an issue at all. The only drawback to this printer is the cost of ink cartridges. The regular OEM ones are really expensive so I have started buying remanufacutred ones off of eBay so that saves quite a bit of money. All in all, I would recommend this printer to anyone that's looking for an affordable, wireless one.

The Lexmark X4550 is very dependable with an easy setup right out of the box. They have an excellent support by phone or by website. The X4550 can be setup on a wireless network.  Lexmark has a wonderful Return Program that I use faithfully, as we have 2 Lexmark printers. After you sign up with the program they will send you a bag that has your ID info on it and you get free ink for so many you send, postage paid! It's a winner both ways!

I have owned my Lexmark x4550 for about a year and a half now and its been great. I love the fact that the printing quality is excellent. It is also wireless so it makes it great for my family because everyone can print to one central printer without having to be tied down to it by a usb cable. Very easy to set up on the main or desktop PC if you have one but if you don't thats not a problem either. Once you set it up once on the main PC then setting it up on all the rest is a breeze. The driver software that comes with it is very very easy to use and understand even for the computer challenged. You just pop the cd in and it will come up and ask you are you setting up your printer for the first time or adding it to another pc you click adding it and within 3 to 5 mins you are up and running. It has a lot of features such has printing from a SD card or what every card your camera uses. It has Pictbridge so you can print from your cell phone. It also makes copies in black or color and scans to any of the computers connected to it in black and white or color. The only drawback is the ink could be a little bit cheaper but over all its has been a great printer and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another Lexmark product. I have had 3 or 4 and never had a problem with any of them.

A Real All in One The Lexmark X4550 is advertised as an all in one and it is exactly that.  As a teacher I have used it for multiple tasks and have had success with them all.  It prints from my PC using a wireless connection.  This is invaluable because I can use either a laptop or my desktop.  I do not have to be bound to the computer desk. Additionally, I can scan from texts, worksheets or other documents and incorporate multiple sources into whatever I am working on. Photos can be scanned or uploaded directly from the X4550.  The included software does a great job of editing whether cropping or enhancing the photos.  The photos can then be either saved or printed.  The quality of the printed photos is excellent.  You can select multiple sizes and prints. It also allows you to print greeting cards and posters or even create a slide show.  It also works well to print from other software including Adobe Photo and Corel Print House. The copy function allows you to make single or multiple copies of important documents or just about any printed material you might wish to copy. You can choose the functions you want using either the menu on the front of the printer or you can open the menu on your computer. The buttons on the printer are easy to read and self explanatory.  The printer will alert you when the ink is low, the paper jams, or if it is out of paper.  Loading both paper and ink is very easy.  The ink cartridges can be purchased separately or in multi-packs. The multi-packs include multiple black, black and color or you can purchase double black with one color.
