Very dissapointed with the Lexmark x2650!

I origionaly purchased the Lexmark X2650 All In One InkJet Printer for operation in my Home Office, where I run my small business. I purchased it due to it's price, and all it's versitile function's. It seemed the perfect product for a small business just starting up. I used it for light office work such as printing document's, Invoice's, and small batche's of marketing material's. The entire printer did a good job for about one month. After using the All In One combo for just over a month, and still not used very much (still using the first ink cartridges that came with the printer) The scanner stopped working all together. The light would come on, but it wouldn't move. I wasn't happy about it, but I could survive without the scanner, even though it made thing's a little more difficult as now it was just a printer. Once the scanner goes out you cannot use the All In One function's, you cannot, use it for a copier, scanner, or a fax machine as they all rely on the scanner! So even though it was reduced to just a printer I continued to use it, and it was so inexpensive that I could have bought an entire new one for what it would cost to ship it out to be fixed, so I didn't bother with the warranty. After the scanner went out, the printer stopped functioning within about one more month. And it wasn't from over use as I was then only on my second ink cartridges. I simply took it to the dump and bought a HP and it has done just fine ever since! I am not against all Lexmark product's, I have in the past had very good luck with Lexmark printer's and really enjoyed their quality, I may have just received a bad one, or maybe the design was flawed since these printer companies seem to crank out a new printer every week making the one they just put out obsolete. I would deffinatly recomend Lexmark brand, but I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THE LEXMARK X2650!

The Lexmark X2650 is not the ideal printer for extensive printing needs.  Although the Lexmark X2650 is considered an all-in-one, it still lacks a few conveniences expected of a printer.  If you're looking for a printer that also gives you the ability to fax - this is not that printer.  To make a two-sided copy, you must first print on one side, flip the paper over once its finished printing, reinsert the paper, and then print the opposite side.  Too many steps for me.  Lastly, the Lexmark X2650 accomplishes so little in comparison to the ink that it uses.  The black ink cartridges are used so quickly and the cost for the ink alone adds up enormously.  I purchase more ink than I do paper using this printer.  To make matters worse, the color cartridges are used twice as fast as the black ink cartridges when printing color documents.  The cost you save on the price of the printer will be easily made up in its ink purchases. All in all, the Lexmark X2650 is a great printer if you plan to use it for no more than a few pages to review from a website or a small document to print out for school or work every once in awhile.  Otherwise, if you're looking for a printer in which you can receive an incoming and send an outgoing fax, can print a large number of documents, quickly, either one sided or two, and that doesn't keep you buying ink cartridges more than actually printing documents, then the Lexmark X2650 may not be the best choice for your printing needs.
