Lexapro Antidepressant —

I am almost 30 years old and I work in a stressful atmosphere, and my life in general is very stressful! I began to have EXTREME mood swings, and went to my Dr. I thought I was either going crazy or my hormones were all "out of whack". He put me on Lexapro, and it changed my life. I feel "normal" for the first time in a long time! I doesn't make me feel "drugged up" or tired. In fact, I can't even tell that I've taken it....unless of course I DON'T take it!

Sometimes, it's well worth the weight gain and other side effects to feel better. My older sister is on an SSRI and did gain some weight but it was worth it to her. She feels so much better now.

I have gained some weight as well, but, the medicine has helped me so much, and I can't be sure that it is THIS medicine that caused the weight gain, because, I take several different meds. I hope you have found something that works for you!

I think it does for some people. I have gained some weight lately, but, I can't be sure that it is caused by this medication. I'm on a diet now, and I will be reviewing the medicine I'm taking for it later!

I am so glad this worked for you. I was on it for a short time but gained weight and didn't really feel much better. I realize now that I am anxious and not depressed but Lexapro did calm me some.
