Lewis Black - Me of Little Faith —

My good friend brought Lewis Black's book ME OF LITTLE FAITH by for me to read after he had finished it. Book shareing is such a nice thing to do. While I am aware of Lewis Black in standup, I was not aware that he was such a good writer.

In the book ME OF LITTLE FAITH, Lewis Black gives us his take on the various faiths and  religion that prevails in the world today. His newest paperback includes just a few more essays than did the first publishing. As with his standup he holds nothing back in written form. This book gave me a whole new way of understanding Mr. Black and why he is as he is today. What a perspective as a Jewish man he has on almost every belief system out there today.

I suspect many people will not take kindly to Lewis Black's hard and open look at both what they believe and the history he reveals about said belief. As someone who has struggled with Christianity in my personal life, I still have faith in something bigger than ourselves. Lewis Black concurs that he too feels that way. Haveing said that, its a no holds barred kind of book. When you read it you must remember where the writer is comeing from and understand that humor is the true intent of the book ME OF LITTLE FAITH.

I did not really know what to expect when I started this book. I found myself both laughing out loud and laughing hard I might also add, yet at the same time amazed at this man's gift  of words and insight. He will make you consider things you had not thought of.

I think its important for everyone of faith, to step outside their box and look at themselves through someone else's eyes. And while at times you might cringe, as adult humor will sometimes make us do, if you give it the chance it deserves, you will come out on the other side a stronger, more faithful person.

ME OF LITTLE FAITH has made me a bigger fan of Lewis Black and I look forward to reading more of his books. Sooner or later such talent will be put to paper again.
