not that great in my book

2

The good: -the baby-room-unit has a night light you can control from the parent unit -the baby-room-unit plays a preset number of tunes, which you can control from the parent unit. -the parent unit has a flash light built into it. -it works fine in across floors The bad The parent units on our old AngelCare displayed the temperature in big, lit, digits. You could read that from across the room, day or night. Quite the opposite with this product: the screen is tiny and back-lit only seconds after you press a button. Wait, it gets worse. The sensor in the baby-room-unit must be picking up heat from other components inside the unit. I keep an old fashion room thermometer right next to the baby unit. When I turn on the unit, it shows up the same temperature as my thermometer. A couple of hours later it show up 4 degrees higher. Very disappointing, we only bought this product cause it gave temperature readings.

Not the best monitor/intercom

When we moved into our new home, our kids's bedroom was in the lower level while we were in the master bedroom on the top floor. Being so far away from them made me apprehensive, so I looked for a baby monitor with an intercom feature. We purchased the LEVANA® Melody Digital Baby Monitor with Talk to Baby Intercom and Temperature Sensor to fit this need. The LEVANA® Melody Digital Baby Monitor with Talk to Baby Intercom and Temperature Sensor works relatively well as a monitor, but the reception tends to be spotty. A button on the base monitor must be pushed before talking, but you have to wait a few seconds before beginning to talk or the first part of what you say is cut off. Similarly, when you let your finger off the button to listen to a response on the other end, sometimes the first part of what is said is not heard. So, although it does save a bit of running up and down stairs, it is not perfect and has led to some frustration. The receiving unit is constantly plugged into the wall while the base unit has a battery and can be carried around. This would be useful for a sleeping baby, but the battery life is limited to a couple hours and the low battery beep it produces is loud and annoying. The temperature function appears to work well, but we've never needed it. The music function also works well. Overall, the LEVANA® Melody Digital Baby Monitor with Talk to Baby Intercom and Temperature Sensor works well as a baby monitor, but if you're seeking a reliable intercom function, I wouldn't recommend this unit.
