The auction process in general is very exciting and bidding can be intense.  But every once in a while, you can luck out and find yourself bidding alone on an item, and, thus, are able to get a good deal.  They offer on-line bidding, bidding by fax and phone, as well as in person bidding.

I highly recommend Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, not only as a Chicago classic and nice alternative to larger auction houses, but for the opportunity to get something fabulous for less than retail cost.  It may take a few auctions to get the hang of how things work, and depending on who you land on, the staff is either helpful or cold.  However, once you know the lay of the land, this can be an excellent spot for sourcing something unique, at just the right price.  Who doesn't want to take home the gem of a lifetime? Let the bidding begin!
