After lengthy discussions and on their banker's recommendations, I paid $700 for 2 home appraisals on which I was refinancing. I was told, "If I didn't think I could get you the loan, I wouldn't recommend you getting the appraisals." I was nervous about dropping the money, but was assured the odds were heavily in my favor of loan approval (700+ credit score, etc). After the appraisals, I could not get a return email or phone call. Minus a few brief interactions saying they are working on it, I got nothing. Finally, months later, I was told they weren't doing my loan. I asked for a refund as I did the appraisal based on their recommendation. They wouldn't even give me a partial refund to rectify their mistake and unforgivably poor customer service. I have dealt with numerous banks on numerous home loans, some stellar, some not so much. Lenox (at least the Irvine office!) is the WORST experience I have ever had.
