lightweight & powerful but tech help not very helpful
I shopped a lot online for a lightweight laptop that would be fast, with enough storage, whatever that means. Bits and bytes don't mean much to me, but when I had enough background and a good guess at what I wanted, finally ordered it over the phone. I'd had a very good experience with IBM/Lenovo before so I called there. I found the phone order taker/salesman helpful in confirming things like what accessories I already have would or would not work. I bought the X200 and I got the docking station because it has the CD/DVD player in it. I don't need it when I travel usually. It is light and fast and has features like a built in task light, Wi-Fi and even a webcam. From the day I got the machine I got some strange error message and called for help. I spent almost 14 working hours on the phone or waiting for software to reload then finally sent the machine in for warrantee work. The tech's gave conflicting info- "it's software," "it's hardware." When the machine came back, it had the wrong operating system on it. So I spent more time reloading that plus all my data. The same error came up. A tech told me to disable certain other software to solve the problem, but he didn't know what that software was used for. It usually works just fine and I like to keyboard and the portability. The screen is too small, for large graphics with lots of detail. Great for most business uses.
