Comments about Lenovo ThinkPad W500 PC Notebook:

The W500 offers tremendous value for the price point. Like traditional Thinkpads, the W500 has outstanding build quality that make the line a road warrior's dream device.

The W500 is a big laptop. Not quite desktop replacement level, but it is heavy and large in size. You won't mistake this for a netbook. In fact, my netbook looks like a toy compared to the W500.

The screen is high quality with high resolution support. Glare isn't an issue and view angles are superb. The keyboard has nice carry on each keystroke. The key placement is fairly standard with a few exceptions that take some getting used to (hitting the FN button instead of CTRL and the F1 key instead of Escape).

For pointer options you have the traditional nub located in the middle of the keyboard. You also have a mouse pad. Of course, for longer sessions an external USB mouse will give you better results.

The optional docking station is a nice addition for those that will use the laptop while seated at a workstation. The dock comes with a lock, 4 USB ports, PS2 keyboard, ethernet, VGA/DVI display ports, audio  (microphone and speaker out).
