LendingTree.com is a service known for its speed and this is one of the main reasons reviewers like it so much. They also like the large number of loans and financial services available and the fair interest rates and other loan terms. Reviewers say things like “In Need of Cash? Try Lending Tree” and they refer to LendingTree.com as “An Excellent Tool”. We refinanced our mortgage through Lending Tree.  It was so fast, so easy!  It was almost a little scary!  We filled out forms, faxed over some w2's and other statements and before I could call for the status, our loan was approved!  Now that won't happen in everyone's case (depends on the credit... read full review »

I chose Lending Tree to refinance my house because of their catchy ad tag -- "When lenders compete, you win."  After the death of my husband, I wanted to combine my 30 year fixed-rate mortgage and my 10 year, interest-only balloon equity line into one fixed-rate mortgage.

When my husband and I were mortgage shopping, I thought I was all set when I signed up with lendingtree. I gave my credit card deposit (as required) and was on my way to signing papers. That is until I was faxed a sheet with a MUCH higher interest rate that I was supposed to sign right away and send back.. When I asked my lender what the problem was she said "don't worry about it, I'll send you the correct one right away." 4 days later she told me I could not have the rate I was promised.--(It had nothing to do with credit. we both have excellent scores) --So I went somewhere else and got an... read full review »

Bummed....I hope they go broke. Stupid Lending Tree.

I was dismayed to find that the lender that Lending Tree refered had me do an appraisal on my property(which wasn't required for what I was trying to do). The Lenders weren't that knowledgable, in my opinion, never heard of an FHA streamline, apparently. Ended up not making the deal, so I get to pay some chump 400 bucks I can't afford for basically nothing. I WILL NOT EVER contact them again.

Chumps. Thanks for NOTHING!

I used Lending Tree when I was looking for a car loan. When I presented the interest rate Lending Tree was proposing, the dealer gave me an even better rate.  it was easy to complete the online form and I would have used the best rate from Lending Tree if the dealer had not come through.
