When I was looking for a bottle for my breastfed baby, a friend suggested the Soothie bottle. I had already tried the Avent bottles for my son, and he didn't like them. I was willing to try anything. I was aware of the Soothie pacifiers, but didn't know they sold a bottle with a similar nipple. I found the Soothie bottle at Walmart, which is very convenient for my family. I bought a 6 oz bottle with the stage 1 nipple to give it a try. Can I just say at how ecstatic I was when my son actually took this bottle and didn't have trouble with it? It was a Godsend for us. As he grew, I bought the next size bottle (9oz) and gave it a try. This size bottle wasn't such a huge hit with us. With the 9oz bottle, you get a stage 2 nipple which has a larger hole. My son made a mess with the stage 2 nipple. He still drank well with it, but since he has such a strong suck, he would take in too much and dribble out the rest. I have resorted to using the stage 1 nipple on the 9oz bottle and haven't looked back. I do find that he has a hard time grasping the bottle though. We have many different brands of bottles now, and some of them are much easier for him to hold. Aside from a few minor things, the Soothie bottle is great bottle for the those breastfed babies.
