When my son was still drinking from bottles I used to get so frustrated with the cleaning and drying of them. Sure I could clean them easily with a bottle brush, but then they needed to dry thoroughly. If they didn't dry correctly and thoroughly they would become less than sanitary. Then there are the nipples and the sealing caps. I would put them in my dish drainer, and the nipples and the caps would fall through to the bottom (yuk), the bottles wouldn't stay up right, it was just a big old frustrating mess. Then someone told me about the The First Years Modular Drying Rack. This must...
review »We started with the Munchkin drying rack, but quickly outgrew it once we got more bottles into rotation (along with pacifiers, pump equipment, etc.).
The First Years Modular Drying Rack was a vast improvement, but it only gets 4 stars because it does feel a bit flimsy and the trays don't spin as nicely as I'd hoped. I'd be willing to pay a bit more if it had some ball bearings in it for spinning ease.
One part that we don't use is the drip spout, which is supposed to hang over the edge of the sink so it can drain. The type of sink we have won't allow that - but in addition, we never have THAT...
review »The First Years Drying Rack has really worked well for me! First and foremost, it is very reasonably priced. It fits very neatly next to my sink and takes up much less space than you would originally think!
Now, you may not believe this, but it's true. I have used this rack for the past year to hold 15 Dr. Browns bottles! For those that know about Dr. Browns bottles, that is a LOT of parts for a drying rack to handle! How did I do that with this small rack?
I would put the vent over the drying rack tines. The bottes over the vent. Put the nipples and nipple rings back together and place them...
review »The first years drying rack is an amazing concept to help keep bottles drying and with its great angles you dont have to worry about water sitting in it and not coming all the way out. It lets the air flow evenly throughout the drying process. Plus you can put just enough on there to last you a week or so for you baby. And then you can add more. I got this for my sister while I was visiting my new nephew and we got to use it while there. It was great..
Way to go First year!!
I was using this for about 2 years now and recently gave it away. It's great, but have to be cleaned on a regular basis because of the water.
This drying rack is very easy to set up, it stays clean, and it has plenty of storage for bottles and accessories.
