When my son was still drinking from bottles I used to get so frustrated with the cleaning and drying of them. Sure I could clean them easily with a bottle brush, but then they needed to dry thoroughly. If they didn't dry correctly and thoroughly they would become less than sanitary. Then there are the nipples and the sealing caps. I would put them in my dish drainer, and the nipples and the caps would fall through to the bottom (yuk), the bottles wouldn't stay up right, it was just a big old frustrating mess. Then someone told me about the The First Years Modular Drying Rack. This must have sent from heaven.
The First Years Modular Drying Rack has two levels for bottle drying. It even adjusts to accomadate different sized bottles. What is also great is that because the dryer is two levels it goes up instead of out so it doesn't take up a lot of counter space.
There are eight drying sticks on each level. I don't know what they are actually called but what I refer to as drying sticks are just thin pieces of plastic that you can place the bottles on, kind of like long toothpicks, if you will. So you could easily dry or store up to 16 bottles on The First Years Modular Drying Rack. But that is not all there is also extra airated space that you can lay nipples, or screw caps on. Or you can also place the the nipples on the drying sticks or hand the screw caps from them. You can also hang and place your breast pump pieces on here as well. And when you are done using it for bottles if you have limited cabinet space you could also use it for small cups, such as sippy cups, and keep the sippy cup lids on there by placing the drinking part gently on one of the sticks.
If you don't want to leave The First Years Modular Drying Rack out on the counter but would also like use it for storage, you can place it in a fairly tallk cabinet. Each individual shelf moves on its own, so getting something off it is simple.
You can simply keep this anywhere, because it has its own drip tray. So the water drips right down into the bottom, where it collects and stays safely. Do make sure to keep this area clean, and dry, you don't want any reason or place for bacteria to form. The drip tray is not attached, it just kind of sits below and is optional, but if you don't want dripping all over you counter, then it is good to use, and easy to just wipe down, and replace. The First Years Modular Drying Rack is also dishwasher safe, although it is actually easier to just clean it by hand.
The First Years Modular Drying Rack was really one of the most helpful and functional things that I used when my youngest was still drinking from bottles. It really helped cut down the frustration of storage, and drying of baby bottles and their accessories, I also knew that they were drying up in the air, and individually rather than sitting in the dish drainer, where the nipples and bottle sealer often fell down. It also left my dish drainer opened for other dishes. Is this a necessary item of course not, but it sure is a handy and helpful one. I highly recommend The First Years Modular Drying Rack.
