I just love educational toys.  It makes me feel good to know that when my kids are playing they are actually learning something as well.  My youngest son is only 3 but it won't be long before he is in preschool and they will be expecting him to know his letters.  I am pretty confident that by the...

I saw this before Christmas and thought it would be a great gift for my toddler, who would be 2 1/2 on Christmas.  I purchased it, wrapped it, and fought myself not to give it to my son early.  By that time, my son already knew his ABC's, upper and lower case, and was bored with the toys that just...

We just received this toy, and my kids are intrigued.  They are not playing with it by themselves yet, but the love to ask us to play with them.  I keep all the letters in a mesh bag and not on the fridge, because when my 1 year old wants to make a mess, she goes for the letters.  But my 2 1/2 year old thinks it's neat.  We had another set of letters from the phonics toy, so the first thing we did was make sure that you can't spell bad words, and you can't because it tells you to replace a letter.

I bought this for my 3 year old and five year old daughters. We had been practicing spelling three letter words and now we have this to help them sound it out as well. We store it on the fridge but take it into the living room so that we can be comfortable while we play. My youngest is so eager to learn so I am excited to see how many words she can spell within the next couple of weeks of us playing with this. I would recommend this to all parents with young kids.

The Leap Frog Word Whammer Fridge Phonics set helped my daughters learn all their uppercase and lowercase letters and their sounds.  We actually purchased this set, the original Fridge Phonics set, and the lowercase letters set.  All of them have been on our fridge for a year now and we have not lost even one!  I find the magnets to be strong enough to keep them on the fridge pretty good.  I sometimes get annoyed by toys that make noise but this one isn't too annoying for me.   Batteries seem to last a long time.  I think I've only replaced them once and my kids play with this all the time....

We have Leapfrog Word Whammer as well as the individual single letter Leapfrog fridge magnetic toy on our fridge.  Our first son loved the original but this is even better!  Our preschooler and 2-year-old are always playing with it and entertaining themselves while I'm getting things ready in the kitchen.  In addition to games that help your child learn how to spell three-letter words, this also teaches the alphabet and plays spelling games with them.  The voice is always encouraging and it isn't one of those 'annoying' toys with sound.  All the pieces are heavy-duty plastic and if you were...

We received this as a gift for our first child, who is almost 5, when she was just a little thing.  Both of our kids have spent countless hours playing with it.  My son knew his ABC's very early and I attribute it to the word wammer.  My daughter is in preschool and it has been a useful tool in recognizing letters and sounds.  I would highly recommend.

the leapfrog word whammer fridge phonics set it fun for a little while but after about 10 minutes the kids tend to loose intrest. it is very educational my oldest son learned all the sounds by doing one letter a day. i think if your child is young enough to use it for 2 yrs it is a good buy also if you buy the leapfrog movies it tends to get the kids more involved with learning.

I like that this toy has 3 levels of play, which keeps children coming back to play with it.  It encourages children to learn the letter sounds, not just the letters, which isn't some thing alot of toys do. We've had this for over a year now, and my daughter still loves to play with it, however quite a few of the magnets are missing (maybe under the fridge?).

My son is a very self-motivated learner.  He loves Leap Frog toys and especially loves this one because he can experiment & learn unassisted.  I was able to buy it for a very good price and cannot have put my money in a better place.  My son is happy, so I am happy.

I am a  Kindergarten teacher and use many of the Leap Frog products in my classroom. I love that they reinforce the skills that I teach. I not only purchase LeapFrog products for school but as gifts for family members and friends too. They are the best!

It's a wonderful invention. You can purchase the lower case letters. The magnets from the Fridge Phonics are interchangable. I have them both on my livingroom door, it's metal. No kids wanted in the kitchen...please!

My 4 year old and my baby love playing with this!!  The baby just chews on the letters and loves taking them off the fridge - the 4 year old spells words with them.  :)  It's one of our favorite toys!
