i got lucky and found the LeapFrog Tag Reading System on sale at kmart. it came with the pin and 2 books and animal cards. i liked the looks of it... it sounds like it would be fun. but really if its a toy its up to my little girl if its worth it or not. well i got home with  LeapFrog Tag Reading System.. it had one of the books on the pin i needed to get online to download the others. my little girl loves ozzie and mac book... so i waited for other sales to get her a few more.  I love the leap frog learning books... they have all kids of different subject's like reading, math and ect.... It is great for kids cause it is very educational and it makes it fun for the baby to learn cause when you are doing the reading one of it's quality's are it will read it or tell you the word when you point at it with the magic pen that comes with it. it makes sounds like animals and helps you sound out stuff you know it makes it easy and fun that's the good thing about it. this might be alittle expensive but it is very much worth the money to pay for all the learning it teaches cause...

My parents got the Tag Learning System for my 5 year old last Christmas.  I had seen it, but wasn't sure what I thought about it.  The system and books can be a bit pricey.  But my kids both love it.  They will sit down together [they are ages 3 and 6] and read the books together.  A lot of the books also have games to them, and you can do different settings, having the reader either read the entire page for you [like a book on tape] or just word by word.  Now that my 6 year old is an emerging reader, he can read a lot of it himself, but just uses the reader for the words he struggles with...

I bought the Tag reading system for my daughter when she turned 6 and was learning to read.  I love how it tells you all the words in the Tag books and also has little surprise sounds when your child taps on a picture in the books.  This system is great for word recognition.  There is also a good variety of books that you can buy.  Tag has all of the popular characters like, disney, nickleodeon, and even Fancy Nancy.  This toy does take some adult supervision.  You have to load each book on to the Tag pen and the pen only holds 5-10 books depending on if you have an old or a new version....

I really like the new or newer TAG reading system.  It is a HUGE improvement over the old LeapPad systems.  I especially like that there are no more cartridges to get lost and that the quality of the books have improved.  The old LeapPad books were so flimsy and the pages would always get ripped.  It's a little more cumbersome for the initial setup because you have to download content online into the toy, but in the long run it's so much easier to maintain and for the children to play with.  They just need the book and the reading wand.  The other great improvement is the quality of the audio...

We got a tag pen for my oldest son's thrid birthday. At first we were really not interested in spending that much money for it, but ended up getting it from a grandparent. Immediately our son got hooked on it. It was so easy for him to use by himself or with us. He can listen to the story by himself or play along and learn how to pronounce a word or even what letter it is.
