My point of view, from own experiences.......

My daughter had been wanting a toy laptop of some sort and I'd held off on buying any because of the prices. I found this one on a daily deal at an online retailer, so I ended up buying it for part of her Christmas presents. I didn't know much about it, only that it was very affordable compared to the other ones I'd priced. She loved it instantly, and chose to bring this toy over to her grandparents' home (I let them pick one new toy to bring over). I love that there are so many different features on it, ranging from alphabet learning to music, to animals and even emails. I haven't figured out the email feature yet, but I'm excited about the possibility of sending her and email right to her "computer." She loves the purple color of the computer and the little dog "Violet" that narrates everything. The dog barks and talks sweetly. One of my favorite features is the volume control button! I love when you can turn down the sound on kids' toys becuase they always seem so loud. I would definitely buy this toy again!

We bought this for my two year daughter and she loved it! She carried it every where. She has learned a lot of educational information. She even likes to show me how it works. We personalized it to say her nana and papa sent her email. That is one of her favorite things to listen to. I would recomend this product to anyone. It would make any two year old's day!

Great learning toy

My daughter really likes this toy, not one that she just played with once and then forgot about. I like that you can personalize it with her name, favorite songs and emails just for her. It is good for teaching the alphabet in a fun way for children. She loves music and she loves to play the songs on it. Plus you can change things up so that your child won't get bored with it. It is made well, so it is great for kids to carry around without worrying so much that it will be broken.

I bought this as a gift for someone else and let my little girl look at it. She was almost 2 at the time but she fell in love with it! We had to go buy another one because I could not take it away from her! I love all Leapfrog toys. They are very educational. The thing I love about this toy is that you can customize it to say your child's name and pick out the songs you want it to play. It teaches animals and letters. It also has a music setting so your child can play "music" with it. It has customizeable emails from mommy and daddy or whoever you want to make the email from. Then your child answers the emails back. It makes my eyes tear up every time I hear them. They are so sweet! It is very small and easy to stick in a diaper bag. It is great for long trips and short trips alike due to being so small and portable. We ended up with the green one since we bought it for a little boy but it is really gender neutral. You can get it in Violet for a girl though if you want it to be "girly." Overall I love Leap Frog products and the Leaptop is no exception to the rule!

One of My Daughter's Favorite Toys

5

My husband and I gave this laptop to my daughter for Christmas because she always wanted to play with ours, and she LOVES it, even though she's normally pretty skeptical of toys she perceives as "kids versions." But she adores this laptop. It looks pretty similar to a real laptop, with a full keyboard and everything. It has three settings: music, animals, and the alphabet. There's a USB cord which enables you to pick several songs, several email messages (such as "You have an email from Mommy! Let's Read It! Dear Child's Name, I love you so much! Love, Mommy!"). My daughter really gets a kick out of the personalized email messages and when Scout, the little puppy on the laptop, says her name. The only downsides are that the screen isn't backlit, so it's a little dim. I haven't had any issues with it using up batteries, and so far it's been pretty durable even when my daughter tosses it to the floor from the kitchen table, as toddlers are wont to do. It was also quite inexpensive, and well worth its price tag in terms of how much peace and quiet we've gotten from it.

Leaptop is great

My daughter was interested in real laptops but she kept on pulling off the keys. I saw this item at costco and decided to buy it for her. At first she did not like it because it was not real like ours. However she did go to like it. She likes the sounds and music that the leaptop plays. What i like about this product is that there are different settings to it. It plays music as an option and it has letter identification as another option. Another options is that is has animal sounds. My daughter loves the animal sounds that the product makes. She likes to imitate the sounds which i find very cute. One of the best things about this product is that you can personalize it for your child. My daughter is able to check her "email" and get a personal message from me or her daddy. It's quite cute. I would recommend this toy to other parents. It is something that will grow with your child. It's fun to have the music but as your child grow it will be an educational toy to learn the alphabet.

LeapFrog leaptop helps reinforce letter recognition for toddlers

5

I pikced up this Leapfrog Leaptop soon after our toddler began watching the Leapfrog letter factory. We noticed that he picked up the alphabet right away and watned to reinforce his recognition of different letters and their sounds. The nice thing is all the Leapfrog toys use similar tunes and memorization or identifying sounds. Our little guy always wants to copy us so when I have my laptop in my lap he grabs the leapfrog and does the same. It's also customizable so you can add your child's name, emails from loved ones and choose which songs the leaptop plays. The leaptop is nice and small so we can take it with us on plane rides, vacation, in the car or to a friend's house. Our son was under 2 years old when he was able to recognize all the letters of the alphabet! This is a very cute and educational toy and we highly recommend it! I've noticed it also comes in a pink/purple combo for gilrs so we bought it for our friend's daughter's 2nd bday!

Leapfrog my own laptop

This computer is so cute! If your son has the Scout dog this would be a great thing to have for him also. Just like the Scout dog you can personalize this computer just the same. You can customize the emails and who they are from. You can pick which 3 songs you want the computer to play. You can also customize it so it says and spells your sons name. I found it really cute when I saw Scout dancing on the computer screen anytime it played music. Scout also comes on the screen when you get an "email" which I also thought was really cute. My son loves Scout so when he saw him on the computer screen he went nuts in excitement. I'm not sure how the battery life is since we have only had it for about 3 months. We haven't had to change the batteries yet so that's a huge plus! This toy is a great educational toy. Besides teaching your son songs, abc's, spelling, it teaches him about animals. I do wish however that the screen was a little bigger. It's a small screen so it can be a little hard to see what's going on on the screen. Overall though this is a great toy to have for any little one =)

Having the Leaptop has saved my own Laptop!

My husband and I got the Leapfrog Leaptop for our soon-to-be-three-year-old for Christmas this year, and it's the best toy we've ever bought him! My husband is a self-described techno geek -- so there are computers and gadgets all over our house.  Naturally, our son is fascinated by them, too.  He loves looking at/playing with our laptops, but this tends to cause sticky keyboards and erased files.  The Leaptop is much more durable for a curious toddler.  It is easy to use and navigate.  It has multiple settings, so he doesn't get bored with it.  I love that it is teaching him as he plays -- he has all the letters, letter sounds, and animals that start with which letters all memorized.  The leaptop also finally got him to learn the ABC song.  My son also loves that the Leaptop says his name, and even has a 'song' about him, too.  He gets a kick out of the emails he gets from me and my husband, and he loves the 'blog entries' by Scout, the Leapfrog dog.  He takes his " 'puter" everywhere with him, and can play with it for long stretches.  This toy has been wonderful -- I highly recommend it!

The Leaptop is so fun!

My son first saw the Leapfrog Leaptop at a friend's birthday party. He played with it for the rest of the party! The mother of that birthday friend declared then and there that she would be getting that for my son's birthday, which was soon after. My son loves to use the animal features and hear the animal sounds. He has also been introduced to new and different animals on the Leaptop. He also loves to use the letters and sounds features. We love that the Leaptop is so interactive and teaches so many things. It is very neat that you can personalize it too. It's affordable and my favorite thing about the Leaptop is how compact it is. It's easy to take in the car or stick in our bag or take to a friend's house. We have had it for a few months, and we have not had to change the batteries yet. We like that it turns off by itself if he's not using it for a few minutes. I think this is a great toy for any child two and over!
