I purchased the My First Leap Pad, Leap Frog Learning Center for my son. While my son has a speech delay, even with help he had trouble knowing how to use this program. The books do not sit on the unit properly. Consequently, when my son would click on something, the sound we heard pertained to another page or story.

I didn't feel that the money was well-spent on this item. Within one year, the wire/cord for the stylus/pen was coming out of the unit creating an electrical hazard.

While some Leap Frog products are good learning tools, it seems there's a new one on the store shelf every month - an upgrade, etc. Suddenly the unit you own is now out of date. The problem with this is that cartridges may or may not be interchangeable and therefore may or may not work from one system to the next.

Leap Frog systems are educational; however, systems like the Game Cube, etc. offer upgrade attachments to convert from one system to another. I would like to see more of that sort of thing from Leap Frog.
