LeapFrog Little Leaps Review

     We originally purchased the V-Smile Baby for our son for Christmas. It was promptly returned in exchange for the Little Leaps system.

     So far we are very impressed with the system. Since the system is DVD based the graphics (movies) are great. I think it is far more stimulating than the other system. I'm also looking forward to the selection of games available as my son grows and learns.

     Things I Like - I like the versatility of the system and the fact that it will grow with my child. The two sided controller is a great idea.    I like the value for the money. As with everything children's toys get more expensive every day. This system costs less than V-Smile and I feel like my dollar went a little farther.    I like the variety of games. In addition to the Leap Frog titles there are many character titles available. Having characters my son likes makes him more interested in using the system.    I like the mutiple control setup. You are able to set the system to work with up to 3 different DVD players. This comes in handy if you want to use it on more than one TV / DVD player in your house or want to take it along to use when you visit Grandma.

     The Cons - If you read other online reviews you will see that the system can be difficult to set up. Like setting up a universal remote control you have to enter a code to make the system talk to you DVD player. This can be an involved process as you use trial and error to work your way through the codes to find the right one. There is an automatic setup option availabe as well. I was not able to find the code for one of our DVD players but used the auto setup on a different DVD player and had no problems. The little bit of difficulty in the setup is well worth the trouble for this system.

      Overall we are very happy with this system and look forward to playing with our children and helping them learn.
