My son received the Leapfrog: Leapfrog: Learning Phonics Bus as a birthday gift when he turned two. It was a great gift because not only was it fun, it was educational as well.
The Facts
The Phonics Bus introduces toddlers to letter names, letter sounds, letter songs that combine letter names with sounds, and the ABC song. There are three different versions of the song "The Wheels on the Bus". Requires 3 "AA" alkaline batteries which are included. This toy is recommended for children ages 1-3 years.
My Experience
This toy was very easy for my son to hold and the buttons were able to be pushed by him without help. The songs really kept his interest and encouraged him to keep on learning. The removable characters were like having a separate toy. They were small enough for him to grip in his hand, yet not too small for him to choke on. Another great feature is the low and high volume control switch. The plastic wheels on this bus do actually move too. I'm not quite sure why it is only recommended for up to three years old because my son still played with it until he turned five.
My Final Viewpoint
The Leapfrog: Leapfrog: Learning Phonics Bus is not only educational but a lot of fun too. My son absolutely loved it and because there were so many different features, it kept his attention for a long time. I recommend this toy and am giving it two thumbs up and a 5 star rating.
