Hi I am reviewing the Leapfrog Leapster handheld game system. We received the Leapster when my son was just 3 years old for Christmas. He is now almost 8. It has been such a durable product. It is an educational game system that grows with your child. It can also be taken along in the car for the kids to play. They have games for every age. When I purchased the Leapster, I was able to purchase a case for it. I also bought the rechargable base. It can also have batteries in it to play but sometimes it can get costly when my children are playing with it all the time. It is light...

I nanny for twin 4 year olds, 1 girl and 1 boy, and I absolutely LOVE their Leapfrog Leapsters!! The Leapsters have truly helped them master colors, color combinations, opposites, letters, animal sounds, numbers and much much more! This is truly not the stereotypical video game! Fun and very educational!
The twins love racing to beat the clock as they play a memory game (turning over cards on the screen) to match opposites, capital and lowercase letters etc. They also love tracing letters on the screen. Several games come as part of the system, without buying any additional game cartridges....
review »This is a wonderful product!! I am a bargain hunter and the price tag on this toy is a little steep, but I have no regrets. The price is well worth it. I have 3 children, a 4 yr. old boy, a 6 yr. old girl and an 11 yr. old girl. They all play with it. The younger two play with it the most. It is a great toy to take on the road! It will keep kids occupied for long periods of time. Not only is that great in itself, but while they play they learn! Who doesn't love that? My 6 yr. old learned all of her letter sounds well before kindergarten playing with the Leapster. It is very fun and very educational....

My son loves this toy! This is a great educational toy, which helps kids to learn numbers, colors, shapes and a lot more! This toy is a great help to me, because when my son is playing with it, I CAN do all my home chores! When I got this toy, I thought that it was probably a little early for my 3 year-old son, but in less than a week he became quite skilled in playing! I was impressed! He loves this toy so much that refuses to go to bed without it, and before he falls asleep he keeps playing with it. Though it may seem expensive, but it is worth EVERY PENNY! Besides it is possible to buy additional...
review »I purchased this toy as a birthday gift for my son when he was four, but it has been the best gift for me. When I travel or am riding in my car, my son is occupied and he is learning. Because of this game, he was reviewing letters and numbers on a daily basis and he was counting a lot higher than the kids in his class were. some of the games that I recommend are nemo, cars, letterpillar, and mr pencil (I think thats the name). This is also a great tool to get your child to practice writing. No longer am I bothered every 10 seconds with a new question about the road. I love that all of the games...

The leapster has so much to offer for anyone at any age, with a wide range of games it can be a favorite for anyone. The small compact design works great for travel and dosen't take up alot of room for those that don't have alot of storage space. The hand held system itself has help up very well and is very kid friendly and easy for them to use. The one downfall is the amount of batteries that the leapster goes through. If my son has been playing it for a couple days it will kill the batteries pretty quick. So if your going on vacation make sure and bring extra batteries, plus it takes alot...
review »Very durable. We have had one for years that has been dropped many times and it works great. I got it for my grandson when he was 4. He is now 8 and still love his leapster. It gets set aside for months and then for months they are playing it every day. I think we need some new games to add to the collection this Christmas.
I know another family that has one too, I have seen it left outside overnight several times, dropped many times on a hardwood floor and it keeps working. They have the newer version in pink, we have the original. Thier 4 year old takes it in the car with her.
I have also used...
review »Leapfrog Leapster 2 is a great educational toy. I purchased the pink one that came with the princess game. My daughter has since acquired several more games. She never gets bored and changes up the games a lot. The size is perfect for small hands and it is a very durable toy. My daughter has dropped this several times and nothing has happened to it. She will sit at home and play games or take with when we travel. The pen is attached to a cord and that is very sturdy too. The games are easy to use and they teach a variety of things. The screen is small but good for small eyes. The game system shows...

The Leapster was given as a gift to two of my children and they love their games. Very educational and keeps them interested and engaged. Wonderful to take on the road for long trips and into restaurants (they do have sound control). We love these games so much, I continue to buy games for them. This is one of the few things that my kids really take care of and respect. They make sure their games are put away so they aren't lost. My in-laws really hit a home run with this one. (My mother-in-law is a former grade school teacher and only buys educational toys and books.)
